The TIP SE is in my EDC collection, and it's extremely bright, with good battery life. But one tip (if you'll pardon the pun): if you put it in your pocket, flip the belt clip around so it becomes a button lockout. The TIP SE has a nasty habit of "locking up" if both buttons are pressed simultaneously while in your pocket, and the only solution is to wait 4-7 days for the battery to drain itself (it seems it uses battery while in this locked up mode), and the chip inside will the reset and it'll work again after charging.
In addition to the TIP SE, I always have a Leatherman Wave on my hip (except at the airport or concert venues).
I want to like this, but that date subdial...with the numbering not "level" I guess...it feels wrong. I can't unsee it. I understand why they did it, but I think they could have done it nicer.
Been there - had the click spring from a Seiko 66 take off. I spent a long time looking for it with a magnet, and ended up making a new one. Only to find it the next day, down the heat vent (which I went down looking for a screw for the same movement 🙄).
And don't ask me about cap jewels and their springs. I still don't know where it went.
As far as keepers go, I have 4 and I think that's a solid number for me (one sentimental quartz Citizen, one sentimental and cool Seiko 5, two vintage mechanicals). For me...fixing watches is what gets me interested, but it's hard to justify buying watches specifically to fix them if I don't plan on selling them, so I need to get into the mode of "fix, sell, repeat".
