39mm Tudor Pelagos

Yikes! Tudor just dropped a 39mm titanium Pelagos with T-fit clasp bracelet at 11.8mm thick with complimentary rubber strap: I'm sweating! I may finally have to sell my BB 79220N, as I can't afford this otherwise... but I might wait for the blue... This thing is perfect!

Yes, just seen this. Like you I could do without this stress at the moment! Managed to avoid every Tudor watch so far but this going to be tough to resist as dimensions look perfect for me on face of it

·

What the actual fuuuuuuuu!!! Omg omg omg 😱

In all but name, the Tudor Submariner returns!!!

I never thought they’d do this!!! My gen 1 Black Bay Blue 41mm might just be on the chopping block, but I’ll have to wait and see the blue.

·

Yeah, just saw this on YouTube, (https://youtu.be/s7ey1eUnsI8)

I might have to put my money where my mouth is if a blue one is released. Been saying I'd get this if it was smaller for a long time

Guuuuddaaaaaaammmm!

·

Awesome release from Tudor. It looks like they learned a lot from designing the FXD, quite a few design ques from that model made its way into this 39mm version of the 42mm Pelagos. The minute track and rehaut, 4 line text, the thinner font on the bezel and the lack date are all things that make this version better looking than the 42mm Pelagos.

A blue version of this would be the ultimate Pelagos for me (eventhough that's far out of my budget)

·

The heavens have opened up!!!!

·

Oh wow. I want that on a strap and no bracelet.

·

I let out a little squeak when I read this! Finally a Pelagos for the slightly smaller wristed (or those that like sligtly smaller watches!) Yey!

End of the black bay 58 line for Tudor? Aside from the Pelagos line really getting stretched (RHD, LHD, FXD, 39), this new Pelagos is the watch so many of us have been hoping would be released.

·

Oh boy, this is going to be a popular one.

It's the Tudor Submariner (with a sun ray dial).

In blue, it will be madness.

·

4 lines of text below the pinon--Pelagos in red, looks more like 3. Well done -- Tudor's listening.

·

Love it. I just wish they fitted their date caliber. prefer a date complication in my watches. Oh well, looks like I will enjoy my LHD a little longer.

·

Love this release, not enough to move me away from my FXD though.

Thank heavens they stuck with the square markers instead of round ones. it’ll look too much like a Submariner homage if it was the latter. With the square it stands on its own…

Superb release and scalpers will have a field day I reckon

But it is a Submariner homage. Fully, completely and in the best way. 😊

Not sure if this could help: I've just noticed the sunburst, and that could be a deal breaker for me despite it looking good, I just really like the matt finish on the originals.

·

Yes! Tudor is learning from the community. Small case, titanium, t-fit, uni-rotating bezel. It will be a real hyped package than BB58!

·

Wow. Another great release from Tudor. Between this, the Ranger, and the BB58, they completely own the "goldilocks" 39mm category.

I wonder if this will help signal a trend back towards more modern styling?

·

I am likely biased as on owner of the FUB, but this just doesn't do it for me... at least thike the big brother does. I like the OG rehaut, the powder-coated hands, the matte dial and the matte bezel. All those things speak to me more than this. I do like the thickness being reduced. 500 or 200... doesn't matter to my land-lubber ways. So it has that going for it. My wrist size handles the big boy well, so this is good for those that couldn't support it. And the square indices with the snowflake hands make the BB58 look like a design flaw.

I do like it, but it just seems a notch below the OG. But if I couldn't support the bigger one, this could be next in line.

They are always going to make little nods towards non-tool aesthetics at this size, because they can't have it impeding on the Rolex Submariner's market.

·

I really like it, ticks all the boxes and look forward to see what else Tudor do to expand the model. Think i will pick one up if i can keep the lights on over the next year.

·

Just order mine yesterday afternoon, hope my AD doesn't come with the same excuses has he did for the Pro (good that the pro didn't arrived yet).

·

I spent some time thinking about my "perfect Pelagos" last night in response to this thread.

If they shrunk the FXD case to 39mm and put the crown on the left, it would be hard for me to pass up.  If they gave it a white dial, I might even pay retail.  😀

Tudor is officially the new Rolex! This is a very nice diver especially with the rubber strap. Would have been awesome if it’s Grade 5 Titanium.

From what I’ve read grade 2 is actually preferable over grade 5 for seawater applications.

·

I'd like to try this on despite the 39mm size. Looks the bollocks.

Hey, a YouTuber has a critique very similar to mine above, that Tudor turned their über tool watch into a lifestyle watch for urbanite fashionistas. The difference is he fully buys into the ethos of the "original" Pelagos, but I'm more cynical. To quote another YouTuber (who's on these forums), "This watch is cosplay," both the original and this iteration (he said it about another overbuilt tool watch which he went on to praise to the rafters; cosplay is OK if you acknowledge it as such).

For the most part, all watches are cosplay. Most of us are desk divers and our space travel consists of watching Star Wars and Star Trek

Does the lume still fall off underwater?

·

The only thing that is keeping me buying this is the fact that my blue BB58 does most things this can, plus has a more exciting color. if this comes out in blue I am in trouble. 😶

·

I finally did it: sold my 79220N and bought the Pelagos 39. Took a while! When it arrives, I'll take some pics.

·

That'll do...
