Orient Kano

Is Orient a better value proportion than Seiko at this time?

I think so, as entry Seiko divers like the turtle, monster etc creep up in price, plus the demise of the SKX, Orient divers like the mako, Ray and kano etc are taking their place as affordable divers.(Image failed to load!)

I think so, though i have never owned one. Speaking of which I did get a bambino as present for someone else before.

I’d say so. I’m continually impressed by my Mako and plan to add more Orients to my collection. It’s almost uncanny how they can make such good watches at the prices they charge for them.

It seems so. Does anyone know how the movements they put in those Orients compare to the NH3Xs?

Sadly there is not much out there comparing the two, but they might all be made in the same factory. They are similar in terms of frequency and power reserve and similar in price (meaning the price of watches that these movements appear in)

Yes.  Well built, similar accuracy to Seiko but much better value.(Image failed to load!)

In terms of name and history Seiko is always loved by watch community and the fact that orient is also under seiko group they might shared the same thoughts but want to counter different user base. base line assumptions might suggest that buying orient make more sense but its personal choice but in terms of choices and range seiko is far more ahead.

I own both Seiko and Orient watches & I think it depends what you value. Seiko makes some interesting watch dial designs and have heritage. However, their watches have definitely gone up in price for almost the same/minor upgrades in specs & build quality. Orient now in days also have good build quality but at more attractive price points than Seiko on certain sports and contemporary models for the specs and atleast they signed their crowns. I personally like the Kamasu model that Orient makes. Lastly really like that photo you posted of the Kanno, Call me V.

In the U.K. only the watch aficionados and collectors have ever heard of  Orient,  Seiko are well known but in most shop windows you will only see the lower end Quartz models, so not a true reflection of Seiko’s diverse portfolio. I’ve owned many many Seikos ’, mainly the divers but some others, I’ve also owned many Orient’s. I’m equally impressed, however favour Orient for quality v price.

Orient is one of the brand I respect and enjoy the most they for sure don't  make any junk watches. I just got a Orient titanium beautiful time piece!
