Is it a dress watch? Is it a sports watch? What is it?

There are some watches that are hard to categorize, like this Longines for example. It has roman numerals and no lume and 30 meters of whater resistance. But it's also 40mm and a chronograph. So it's neither a sports watch nor a dress watch. Now, yes James Bond wears an Omega Seamaster, but I'm not James Bond...

What's your take on this and do you have watches that you can't clearly put in one basket? Feel free to show them off!

Not sure what you'd categorize that watch as, but does it really matter? It looks VERY versatile to me and kinda reminds me of a pre-WW2 era pilot's watch! Wear it with anything ya choose ... I would, it's a damn fine lookin' watch!

It doesn't really matter what category it is, that's true. And I think you are on point with it looking like a pilot watch, Longines does have a rich history of making pilot watches and instruments.

Covers a few bases that I'd say. Leather strap helps with the dressy side, complications add sportiness for casual wear, lack of a bezel makes sure that it doesn't feel to sporty though. Nice watch.

The so called CSDs😎

I tend to shy away from watches that are hybrids of multiple categories, but that's such a darn fine looking watch, who could resist?

For me this is a dress chronograph and there are a lot of similar looking watches for different price points: furlan marri, JLC or Patek .

This is a watch you would usually wear with a nice shirt and some chino pants. So to sum up the perfect smart casual style/watch

Would it also work with cargo pants and a black t-shirt? 🙈

For me personaly (and I wear those) I would rather grab some sporty watch like a diver for example or a g shock looks killer with cargo pants and a tshirt. But nowadays styles are so broad and people express themselves differentl. Maybe also if the strap is not too dressy it would make a big difference
