New big release from Christopher Ward in October

Mike France, CEO of Christopher Ward, has teased a new release from the brand launching at the end of October/early November in an interview with WatchGecko that was just published a couple hours ago on their YouTube channel.

"There's something very, very, very special being launched at the end of October/early November, in some ways built upon the C1 Bel Canto, which has been a transformational watch for the business. It's going to be a big one, I think! I really do!"

Mike France also mentions a new field watch designed with the MOD to be released at the beginning of 2024.

Hopefully get to see it at Windup. Timing seems right.

A new Moon Phase watch has been teased in the latest edition of the Loupe. They say they have taken a less is more approach. They also mention that they have used a natural material for the dial.

I haven't watched the interview yet so I will have to see what MF says.

·

I'm looking forward to the new field watch design, I wonder if it will be a MOD approved broad arrow "dirty dozen".

·

If any of these new wstches could come with a v2 of their SH21 mvt, it might be game changing.

Not buying yet another SW* from them.

I only have the one but the Bel Canto is high on my list. I quite like the Aquitaine though so I might have to get two!

I am a big fan as well (currently own 5 with the CW 2023 Forum LE Sealander on the way when they are completed). There are a few that I would like to pick up as well. I would like to add a Lympstone, C65 Chrono and possibly the Cranwell V2. The Moonglow has been on my radar too.

I did listen to the interview and it sounded to me like they were keeping the current model and the new one will be an addition. So you might have the choice when it drops. The only thing I would change with the current version is to make the sapphire dial covering darker. I think the moon shows through the sapphire a little too much. Other than that it is great.

The teaser in the Loupe really has me scratching my head. Especially the comment about using a natural material for the dial. Everything from aventurine to meteorite has been thrown around. Whatever it is, it will be interesting.

So the Bel Canto was built upon a jump hour module, perhaps this new release is a Jump hour CW?

·

I talked to him at WWF SF and he said they are building out a new line of "above the platine" watches similar to the Bel Canto, but with different complications. I'm guessing this is the next one of these. Very cool. I really appreciate their efforts toward innovation at reasonable price points.

Tourbillion or perpetual calendar

hah SO happy that CW does not aspire in any of their watches to the bling thing, I can't stand ANY watch with diamonds. maybe for your wife but not encrusted up and down the band , and different colors , ugh Loa

I highly recommend the black aquitaine GMT , it is the one that resembles 50 fathoms the most, and is about my favorite now . I have 3 , I am not as jazzed about the blue rimmed white dial, fyi , but have a totally green one which I like a lot. I like them all (apparently) I think there is bronze one too that is COSC certified, so there is your CW aquitaine message for the day !

Hmmm, might just need to delay a couple of purchases in case I "need" whatever the brilliant CW team bring out.
