End links compatibility for MM200

The MM200 is my favorite Seiko diver case. However, I am not a fan of the bracelet they come with. It's too heavy, barely tappers, and the diver's extension clasp is bulky and impractical.

When looking for a replacement for the SPB187, I have of course found the StrapCode & co options, but their end links fit is only so-so based on pictures and the male end link is not very defined. Plus they come with a basic clasp and still don't offer on-the-fly adjustment options, so overall I am not thrilled by their proposition for the price.

I have read online that the SKX013 end links are compatible with the recent MM200 cases (SPB18X series) so I might try my luck there.

Has anyone found other 20mm (hollow) end links whose curvature fit the MM200 case?

What about basic aftermarket 20mm Submariner or Seamaster end links?

As our resident mods expert @Ichibunz, do you have any experience with this case shape and recommendations for a bracelet?

Thank you for reading!

Yes! Actually modded a few with this type of case ck out aliexpress to experiment with some bracelets and just do a search for SPB187 straps and bracelets and you have options … also for the price it won’t hurt the pockets too much …

Oh man !! Now you’re making me get a spb187!!

I have found a few SPB185-7 bracelets on AliExpress with solid end links for around $30-$35 that frankly look identical to the StrapCode bracelet, so a much better price. 👍

However, the male end links' definition is a bit soft compared to the original. 😢

So I was hoping to be able cheat and use an AliExpress Submariner bracelet instead, because their end links are sharper and they taper down to 16cm instead of 18cm, come with screws and glide-lock clasps... But the end link may not fit.

You can also look into uncle seiko or unclestaps now and buy just the endlinks.

That was my first thought but they don't seem to make bracelets or end links for this case nor the MM300. They support a lot of Seiko dive watches but not this one. 😭

Long Island watch? They make a ton of aftermarket bracelets for seiko

Try emailing him he might have something that can fit… he’s pretty good replying back and with some advice as well.

They only sell the StrapCode option unfortunately when it comes to this model. They don't make their own at a more reasonable price. Probably because they don't make a MM200 homage (yet).

I have the Seiko MM300 with the same monocase design. The MM300 and the Sea-Dweller wear the same both definitely top heavy - I'm a bracelet guy so I'll man up and power through the pains LOL 🤣 But I am constantly in search for a better and well balanced bracelet for both the MM300 and the Rolex Deep Sea-Dweller. Good luck with your search my man. The journey never stops 🤙🏽

@Beanna No I haven't tried to see if the bracelets are compatible. At these price points, I won't touch these watches with any tools. I'll bring them to a professional 🤙🏽

I remembered after posting that the Sea-Dweller is 21mm anyway. 😜

This is an older model 2014 I believe it's a 20mm which tapers to 16mm which makes this wear top heavy and wobbly on wrist 😭
