I haven’t been on WC for a while, but I just checked in and saw your post. I figured I would reply. I think the BB58 is a great choice, but if you like the smaller size, go with the BB54. I would also suggest trying them on so you get a feel for the size, weight, and aesthetics.
I recently posted about a one watch collection so I can answer this. Firstly a watch is a tool, even certain clothing items can be considered tools. You need a winter jacket or boots but we also grow out or need to change these items for various reasons. They get old, they don’t fit properly or our personal styles change. I think that applies to watches as well. Secondly, some of us like the minimalist approach where keeping what we have is about using it regularly.
