Great problem to have with such tough choices! Don't think you could go wrong with any of them, tho the Pelagos strikes me as the most sporty of the bunch, and the subtle sunburst dial would let you dress it up if need be.
Yeah, one of these is clearly more sporty than the others.
I think there's a meta question if you want a diver or not. I see you have an SPB149 (great watch btw) but your collection does seem to lean dress sporty versus diver sporty.
If you want a diver, you have three pretty similar Tudors. I don't think you'll go wrong with any of them. My slight preference is the pelagos 39 but that's purely a snowflake hands with square markers thing.
But you may find that you're looking for something with a bit more land oriented sportiness....in that case the Santos de Cartier is a best of breed watch in that regard. I personally think it is the clearly superior watch to the rest but again that's just my opinion.
I have three of the four and the OG Pelagos. The Cartier isn’t an everyday watch (to me) as it comes off more dressy than sport.
Both BB58s are awesome And it comes down to personal preference. While I like the new Pelagius and would never fault anyone for picking it, I simply prefer the original.
Other than the Pelagos, these are relatively "easy" to acquire. That might give you some wiggle room on price.
For me it’s Santos and/or Pelagos. I don’t think you’ll need any other watches if you’ve got those 2.
I’d go for the Black Bay 58 (Black). I own and love the Santos Medium, but it rarely gets wrist time over my Grand Seiko. I bought it in order to get allocated a DJ41 (see pic) same day and while I was at the AD I was also able to try on (but not buy!) the Black Bay 58. I’ll be honest, it wowed me more than a Submariner.
For me the Santos is a way to have an iconic sort-of-heavy-hitter for a halfway sensible price AND it resizes so easily that my wife can borrow it any time she wants it. It’s a great compact little unit, but it just doesn’t motivate me to really look at it and take pictures of it. The BB58 would, my grand seiko does, and even a pretty standard DJ41 does. The bezel of the Santos is like a mirror that makes taking pictures very hard and the crown is push down so I am hesitant to swim with it (but I have! Once).
Santos to check the box and have a flashy iconic piece, otherwise I bet you will get more joy from the Tudors (and my vote is black BB58).
hope that helps!
If I had to decide...Pelegos....The BB are great though...when I saw the choices I thought of the kids song "one of these things is not like the other..."lol
Thank you all for your advice. I ended up getting the BB58 (Black) as it sang to me more. After going back and trying Pelagos a couple more time I was just too underwhelmed. I found the hour markers flat and I was trying to convince myself to buy the piece. While, it was completely opposite with the BB58, it just made me smile when wearing it. I must admit the Santos was stunning but I would feel a bit bad once I start getting scratches on it due to its polished case. Also maybe knowing that once my wife see's it, it will go missing from my watch case like my white 39 OP. 😁😁😁
But thanks again guys for all the inputs.
Easy choice, Cartier
I can spend a whole day admiring watches.
