Gift for wife who does not own a watch.

My wife goes down 100 rabbit holes on her smart phone when she initially just wants to see what time it is. I want to give her the gift of being more present.

Looking for 36mm or under. Under 500 would be great, under 1000 is a must. Must be legible and GADA. Dial anything but pink. I’ve researched and I haven’t found anything I like.

Any WC brethren buy something that fits these criteria?

Hadn’t thought of an integrated bracelet. Quart version is the right price. I’ll check it out. Thx.

Two suggestions:

Tissot PR100, something like T150.210.11.351.00.

Hamilton Boulton Small Seconds e.g. H13321511.

Both are well below 36mm and wear even smaller than what the measurements say. Yet both are still legible.

AFAIK Tissot retails around $300 and can be bought at a discount, Hamilton costs twice as much but is still within your limits.

What about a longines conquest, its quartz but is small and tough. Lots if water resistance too

Lorier Astra is a great all rounder and Paulin watches is making an excellent 35mm in fun colors.

·

2 of her favourites, a PRX 35 quartz and a Citizen

Timex marlin or a cwc g10

Hamilton pilot pioneer

·

Tissot Seastar. My wife loves hers.

Citizen Eco Drive (take your pick) or Seiko Solar.

No battery changes for ~10y is a very cool prospect.

I don't understand, 'not being on her smartphone all the time is much healthier than wasting time on the phone'? Unless all that time on her smartphone is looking at the time, how does getting a watch change... well, anything to do with her smartphone use?

My wife occasionally rocks my 36mm resolute w a 41mm L2L. The stock strap is too thick for either of us but it looks great on her wrist when on this bright blue Delugs strap.

Could have been worded better. She checks the time on her smartphone and then rabbit holes on YouTube, News, etc.

Looking at a watch instead of being an iPhone zombie is the gift I want to give her.

I bought the blue one for my wife. She seems to like it!

·

Aah, she only has a phone, no smartwatch. Good points tho.

·

Venezianico has some beautiful ladies watches with great dial colors

·

a nice vintage omega if that’s her style

·

Cartier Tanks are all the rage at the moment. You can't pick them up for your budget, but you can pick up pre-owned square watches on bracelets for relatively good money..

·

Absolutely yes.

·

Give her one of yours you’ve been thinking about moving on from/ doesn’t get enough wrist time, then go buy yourself a new one.

Typically works for me.
