Oris / Longines / Sinn

Scale of 1-10...how quality are these brands?

Asking about overall build quality, not necessarily "value for dollar".

Thanks!

They are all mid-tier luxury level, I've only got experience of Oris, but the quality is very good & almost on the level of Tudor for example.  Longines & Sinn are also highly regarded, although one point of difference might be that Oris has in house movements in their more expensive watches & Longines has movements especially made to their own spec by ETA, where as Sinn relies on Selitta for all their movements.

Longines - 8/10. -1 point for bracelet clasps and -1 for increasing prices too often. Still, in its tier it's probably the best value for the money.

Sinn - 7/10. Fantastic quality, but pricey and often unnecessarily bulky. Entry-level models would be better off with an anti-mag cover instead of a display back.

Oris - 2/10. A point for good clasps and attractive design. Only today I saw a Certina display next to an Oris one. The new DS Action Diver and the Aquis show pretty much the same grade of finishing, only the Powermatic C07.611 is a tier or two above the poorly finished (for Oris prices, criminally under-finished) SW-200 in Oris stuff. Meanwhile, these watches are priced way above corresponding Longines models, to which Oris can at best give a shoeshine. It's only any good if you love their designs and if the price is unimportant to you at all.

I don’t really have experience with a Sinn and Longines, so I can’t comment on these two brands. But I must say I love my Oris Big Crown Pointer Date. I love its design and the pointer date complication, and it sits comfortably on my wrist. I have to agree with @MrBloke that the movement at the back (SW200-based) is poorly finished, but I’m not too bothered by that myself

Have a Sinn and an Oris. I've had the 556i RS for 2 years now and it's been rock solid. I've dinged it a few times on desks and doors, which has created some superficial scratches, but nothing major. I got it on a leather strap, but the leather does take some breaking in. If I had my time again, I so would go for the H-link bracelet. Movement is nothing to write home about - does the job (albeit power reserve could be better) and I don't notice time lost/gained too much, as I rotate through my watches often.

My Oris Divers 65 is my other go-to daily wearer. The bracelet is fantastic, and the clasp is silky smooth. I think it also sports the same movement as the Sinn. I would say the dial finishing is better on the Oris (although it is a slightly unfair comparison). I've had both under a loupe and I feel the finishing on things like the edges of hands, lume, hourly markers etc just pips the piano key-esque dial contrast of the Sinn.

I feel like I can throw the Sinn around a lot more than the Oris. Perhaps it's the polished back and facets that make me more self-conscious of clunking the Divers 65 on something. But anyway, I've had both for roughly the same time and nothing has gone wrong yet (touch wood).
