Watch recommendations for $2000 range

have hamilton khaki field mechanical for everday wear , and a nice vintage omega for dressy occasions. Even though I like minimalistic design, doesnt matter the metal bracelet or nato strap , khaki field feels kinda boring. When I look at it , I cant find any mistakes but cant find anything great about it lol. Im looking for a good looking, high quality, less boring but still not so shiny, robust watch for everyday wear. It can be 2nd hand too. I was going to buy a prx but i dont think there is a lot difference between prx and khaki field quality wise. Im considering Sinn 556 right now. Maybe tudor bb36. Maybe I should save a bit more for an aquaterra. Longines spirit looks good too. I just learned about a microbrand called "Monta" people say its actually the best for the price. But there are so many microbrands and I dont have an option to see them in person so idk which one worth it most. Nomos club sports is nice but even the smaller 37mm has long lugs and doesnt have black dial. And my wrist is 6.25 inches so im looking for relativly small watches. What would be your recommendations ?

If you go to Chrono24, and search on Grand Seiko, you can find a plethora of 9F Quartz GS for your price range. GADA watches that are finished to standards that rival JLC, for ~$2k.

·

Consider a Christopher Ward C63 Sealander, or a C65 Dune.

They have visual interest far beyond a Hamilton Khaki, but aren't at/over the top end of your budget.

Try finding one to see in person. Then compare it to other watches that you're considering. Hell... put it up against any $10k Swiss competitor, and see what you think!

I used to be all about Rolex, Omega, and Breitling, until I finally handled GS in person. Sold off all my Swiss watches!

I love my Sinn 556rs but I do think its more skewed to a "real" tool watch (brushed steel, bit of a bulky bracelet, stark dial). The others you mention are probably more versatile. Not to say Sinn isn't something you could wear every day, but I probably wouldn't wear it with a suit.

I agree with @KristianG on the Christopher Ward. Ollech and Wajs are another good bet, Farer make some beautiful everyday watches for under 2000. I personally prefer the smaller Independents, another good one for your budget would be Echo/Neutra. I think you tend to get more for your money with them but they really don’t hold their value if that’s important for you.

With a 6.3” wrist, which is my size, I’d stay far away from Nomos unless it’s the Tetra model. These long lugs make most Nomos unviable for me.

I posted a question of a similar guise earlier this morning here in the Crunch and got great suggestions. For that $2000 range you’re well into quartz Omega Aqua Terra (ref 2518.50) and Grand Seiko territory (SBGX261). I’ve fallen in love of the second one while researching it after one of the crunchers suggested it.

The sinn is nice and I keep looking at exchanging my Tuna for one but the T Rex hands have always stopped me.

I would get an ETA smiley 😁 face BB36 the quality and finish is miles above the sealander.

I don’t have the C63, but do have the C60. The quality is phenomenal and in my opinion better than Longines. I’ve never handled a Monta. Plus, their customer service is amazing if you have a problem and their 60/60 guarantee is top notch.

I like the idea of a Sinn 104 in white. There are so many great choices out there. Take your time and enjoy the experience. If you can, do some in person shopping and see what they look like on your wrist.

·

Ok my opinion is going to be 100% biased because I'm a Sinn fanboy. I own a U1 and U2. Want a 13.1 next so I'm going to recommend the Sinn. The 556, 836, 586 B-Uhr, 586 or 587 line are all great choices. At least IMHO.

do you own both watches ? Because I really wonder how CW is compared to a tudor like this

·

The last gen BB36 is a heck of a watch. I am also a huge fan of Monta and they are hard to beat at the price, especially second hand. I agree that GS would be awesome, but they might be a bit large for your wrist.

·

You’ve got some good watches in your sight. You can’t go wrong with any of them unless you screw it up. I would suggest heavy research and obsessing for a few months prior to purchase.

I have both the 39mm white dial Sealander and the BB36. The Light catcher case on the CW is what started there transition from Micro brand to Brand. The Finishing is really good and you wouldn't be disappointed with it, But the BB36 is in a different league, the ink black darkness of the dial is amazing and the way the snowflake on the second hand just kisses the smile text. The polished edges on the hour markers that play with the light and the tip of the hour hand is the same width and just touches the markers.

It's the small details that make this watch not the name on the dial. Is it worth the price difference 🤔

I think for how the watch Ware's and the attention to the small details for me it's worth the price difference and could be my one watch. it's a proper GADA stealth watch that you can wear anywhere as it's not an Instergram IT watch or a media darling of the watch press that Tudor divers seem to be. It's one of those watches if you know you know, a modern day explorer 1016 👍
