Bulova “Aerojet” what I like the most…

I am a huge fan of Bulova! Especially the vintage re-issues. I absolutely love the originality of this piece. The two tones of blue on the dial, the applied “gold” indices, the cool tuning fork at the 12, in a silver case..doesn’t seem like it would work, but it does. It is a handsome watch. What I like most about this watch is the originality of it. The case width is 41, which is surprising, because it wears like a 40 and sits perfectly on my 7 inch wrist. The band is very supple, and really comfortable..which makes this a pleasure to wear.

It’s really cool. That two blues you refer to is called a fume’ (few-may) dial. Looks terrific! 👌

I agree with you that vintage re-issues of Bulova are great. Did you take a look at their Frank Sinatra series? Those are classic.

I dislike the 12/24 complication, that's the only reason I didn't buy it, but the blue/gold combo it's great!

Yes! I actually have the Sinatra “fly me too the moon” white/cream dial..which I absolutely LOVE that watch. In fact the entire “Sinatra” line of watches are some of my favorite watches (besides their vintage line), and I am not a huge Sinatra fan. I actually had this watch (Aerojet), the Bulova moon watch (the new one) and the Sinatra “summer wind” all on the tray today at the Citizen store, trying them on. The reason I bought the Aerojet, was it was in sale for 65% off, so the watch was $188.00 out the door after taxes! So I couldn’t pass it up. I will be patient and wait for the other two to go on sale, but definitely on my radar. BTW, That Sinatra “summer wind” looked and felt waaay more expensive in person. Reviews and pictures don’t do it justice.

It is also a worthless complication. The reason I feel like it works though, is that it makes the watch a little “quirky”. I am at the point where I am looking for watches that stand out a bit, have a little personality, and isn’t something everyone else has. Like I said, on paper this design shouldn’t work, but for whatever reason it does. Especially after seeing it in person.

It's a good point. Without it it the dial would look cleaner, but simpler. With it it looks unique. I guess now I understand the logic behind the design of that watch!

Seeing the tuning fork on any watch with a balance wheel is a blasphemy.
