My first was an early version in 1995 called the solar tech and it hasn't failed in 19 years of ownership.

Why is this a poll as opposed to a simple "what are your thoughts on eco-drives" ? Does the Poll badge come with some sort of monetary compensation?

Citizen sells boats loads of them, so they must be doing something right.

I suspect people who don't like them, dislike them for the very reason they are popular. They are set and forget watches.

Not a fan of battery, but the one I have is an eco drive.

I feel like ⅔ of the love for mechanical watches is their maintenance. You know, Benjamin Franklin principle: the more you are helped by others, the more you are loved by them. Same for watches. All the winding and caring and adjustments incur a bond unavailable to EcoDrive.

I have this watch for more than 15 years now, and it never stopped running. If it stays a bit close to a light, the only thing you'll have to do is change the date once every two months. It's my only solar powered watch, I would love to own more.

I have no problem with Citizen's movement. I own a Promaster Tough Titanium which will stay with me forever. Funny with all the so called environmentally conscious folks out there, this watch should sell even more. No external power source other than light for charging and no need for a data center to route your "information".

I ve got an Orca. I think it s a ecodrive, too. Set it when it arrived, something like 4 Months ago, still running on point, so i m fine with it. I like the different mechanics/ movements and how they re functioning in my watches. The only thing i dislike (though i really don t know why) are those modern smart watches like apple, fitbit and the lot

I have a trip of Eco-Drives, and all work perfectly. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I wore a Seiko Kinetic for 10 years as my only watch, and it worked out perfectly. It just doesn't work if you are not wearing the watch hat often. I currently own two solar watches, and they often are my travel companions.

From 1998 (on wrist, PMX56-2501 GMT) to 2018 (BN0150). All worn hard & scrathed all over but somehow in the photo they look shiny like new 😁

Had been with me through everything in my life that I can remember and loads that I can't. I have much "nicer" watches but I'm going out swinging with this one.

Eco-Drive is amazing, especially when paired with a perpetual calendar and high accuracy (+/- 5spy)

I have the SKA201 Kinetic and really love the watch. Agree, it needs to be worn but has quite a power reserve. I was given a Citizen EcoDrive tool watch a few years ago and really like this piece as well.

Big fan, my go-to travel watch is a Citizen JDM with a world-time disk that automatically advances. Works great, though because I'm in the states, the radio accuracy function doesn't work, and setup to get a proper offset is a pain, thankfully only have to do that twice a year( thanks daylight savings...). Otherwise works great!
