Rolex ‘Smurf’ Submariner 116619 (Sport watch) - Few watches are more recognizable than Rolex’s legendary ‘Smurf’ Sub. Blue on the dial and blue on the bezel, there’s enough blue here to drive a happy man to morbid depression. Not really though - it’s impossible to be sad wearing this. Get one for $36,000.
Nomos Tangente Midnight Blue 132 (Dress watch) - This ticker’s dark dial, more ‘mysterious depths of the unknown’ blue than ‘easy-going sky’ blue, is unique among Nomos watches. Everything else is typical - Bauhaus design cues and the Alpha movement. It’s a lot and very little at the same time, all for $1,900.
Grand Seiko Omiwatari SBGY007 (Everyday watch) - Arguably the best Grand Seiko ever built, the Omiwatari’s dial represents the translucent blue ice of the company’s favorite Japanese lake in winter. It’s textured, toned, and rendered in a very Japanese way - perfectly. This Japanese steel is a steal, for $8,300.

Blue is my favourite colour on a watch and I’ve currently got 6 of them. If I was to make a 3 watch collection out of them it would probably be:
My Le Jour Rally Monte-Carlo. Chronographs are my favourite complication and the Tiffany like blue dial on this is stunning.
Next up would be a diver for me and I’d go with my Christopher Ward C60 Sapphire.
Final choice would be my titanium Vilhelm Prism Smoked Blue
Total collection cost around $3800-$4000.
