Longines Spirit 40mm COSC green dial - lights and shadows
Two days ago I‘ve traded my Longines Spirit 40mm for something different. For me it was a watch with lights and shadows (as the most watches). Below I‘ve listed my honest pros and cons about the Spirit:
Pro:
+/+ chronometer movement
+/+ realy nice finished dial with applied indices
+/+ also gorgeous finished hands
+/+ quick release system on the steel bracelet
+/+ nice brushed finish on the case side & lugs
Cons:
-/- quite long lugs
-/- overal size on the wrist due to the long lugs
-/- extremely sharp edged lugs and case
-/- male end-links on the bracelet (increases size)
-/- 5-Star-Design on the dial (my personal taste)

It looks great! It has a really nice dial. The crown looks strange to me. I think Longines in general makes their lugs too long. I've tried on a few but had to pass because it was hanging over my wrist too far.
I found the Spirit 37mm to be a much better proposition:
Even though I haven't seen one in person the green dial Longines Spirit 40mm is one I want to own. I have large wrists and old eyes so I prefer larger watches, within reason. I do plan to go to a local Longines dealer to see one in person and see how it fits.

I totally agree! Maybe the 37mm will be an option one day. If the Spirit will be in my collection again it will be definitely the 37mm version 👍🏼

That was the main reason for trading the Spirit for another watch 👍🏼

I have a Longines Spirit 40mm which I really enjoy. Wears a bit big on the bracelet so I wear it on a Artem sailcloth which suits it perfectly.

To be honest, the blue version looks much better for me. Especially with the dark date window 👍🏼
