I seem to be having a hard time getting away from Cartier. Need some inspiration and ideas of next dress watch to get (when I have the money 🤪)

Can't really beat a Cartier tank, but you may also want to consider a vintage JLC Reverso, Piaget Polo, Patek Gondolo, Rolex Cellini, etc...
Cartier watches are gorgeous, to be sure. How about these:
Why not a vintage Omega? It will not ruin you.

I would probably go for a vintage omega constellation~ thanks for the suggestion
Not sure if I will buy a dress watch but if so it's likely to be one of these. I own a JPC and Zenith so those may not make the final cut. Leaning GO if I do add a dress watch.
-Glasshutte Original Senator Excellence
-JLC Master Ultra Thin
-Zenith Elite Ultra Thin (discontinued)
-Nomos Orion
-Dornbluth & Sohn
I’m a fan of JLC.

Forgot Moser! On my list too 😂

Yes it most certainly will. Stay away from vintage. Vintage ruined me. I have a sickness. I can't stop.
Here's my latest vintage Omega dress watch.
I agree with @YourIntruder on the merits of vintage Omega. There are so many, they were well built and are gorgeous. Maybe they even have something over VC from the same era because of that (parts, servicing, etc.)
For contemporary dress watches watches, I think it’s hard to beat those GS hand wound calatravas in that price point.
Reversos are also awesome

This will definitely scratch my watch buying itch while also getting something that is quality!
Was a Nomos Tangente Norma in 35mm with a black case, silver dial and a beautiful brown cordovan strap. Understated Bauhaus design, slid under your cuff with no drama, and the black case made it more interesting than the standard polished steel case….sold it many years ago and if there’s one watch I could buy back, that would be it. I wish I still saved some pictures of it…
Love my rotary Cambridge!
I've always been attracted to rectangular dress watches, and recently picked up what is now my favorite dress watch, a Rolex Cellini Prince in rose gold. Prior to the new Rolex 1908 line and the platinum Daytona, the Cellini Prince had been the only Rolex that I'm aware of to have featured a display caseback (and showcasing a very nicely finished movement).
If you're interested, here is a link to a great article describing the Cellini Prince line.

My Seiko Tank is my Cartier stand in. Love the look.
From my collection or overall?
Also, you should probably define a dress watch, coz people are piling on with all kinds of shit
Cartier Santos Dumont
That's a pilot dude, not a dress watch...
My Timex Marlin 1965 Reissue and the OMEGA Aqua Terra
Darn u, such a great topic that u had me rifling through my watch boxes seeking dress watches. What a day (thx to the OP- @watch_curator ) found my last option for u. If any time to rock an all gold watch its when u need a dress watch. Unapologetic, classy and subtle if clean like this Glycince vintage.👊🏼

That does look classy~

It can be a dress watch too in my opinion. I was so close to getting it but I just don’t like how the XL version looks on my wrist.

That’s the point of it, no limitation to ideas and inspiration
I just generally like dress watches, not really have a favourite. Of my vintage ones, I like my Dugena and my Junghans the best, to a not unconsiderable extent because they have been trouble-free. Of my newer watches, I like a vintage-style watch like the Escapement Time (King Seiko vibes) or the Baltany (trenchwatch vibes). The Parnis just should not work, because it is way too large for a dress watch, for my small wrist anyway, but it keeps finding its way back to my wrist.
What is that Chinese made watch in the middle? What brand is it?

I agree, can be. But I'm a purist and a stickler in these things

you lost me there

I respect that 👍🏼

Escapement Time. It is one of their King Seiko inspired models, the HO297.
I respect that 👍🏼
I'm still struggling with your original Q though
Would love a #cartier
Why try to get away? Those #cartier watches are perfect
