Field Style Watch?

With the new Hamilton Khaki Murph come in 38mm, the $1000 field style has many interesting options. I am torn between these 3 (if I have the money obviously). What's your recommendation? Or do you have other preference?

What do you want from a field watch? Do you want a dressy "tool" watch, or a field watch for field use? I'm guessing based on your three choices you want a dressy field watch, so I'll offer the Vaer A7 as an option.

Wow, I never heard VAER before, this one looks great as well 👍

I really like the pointer date complication on that Oris but if you can afford that I’d go with this Farer.

More reasonably priced. Comes with extra straps 200m wr instead of the 50m on the Oris.
Just my 2 cents but all those watches are great.

The Whoris is the nicest one.

Hamiltaint are overrated.

If you want features and value this Assio can't be beat.

For 160 bucks you get titanium (ultra light and comfy on the skin), solar, sapphire, radio controlled, excellent sizing and ultra wide/flat back for comfort. And digital timers and alarms which are super useful. It even has a great orange LED light which isn't as harsh on the eyes as many other options.

28g weight, 9mm thick, 44mm lug to lug, 38mm case (or 40mm wide with the button guards).

Lume is long lasting but not very bright. But brighter than my budget Shitizen.

I use the date function quite a lot. You don't see that many pointer dates and it's a unique look. So I would go for the Oris.

There's around 39 different versions of this watch if you don't like that specific look.

@watch.yuk Luckily (or worryingly) I have all three of these. The Murph is obviously new so probably in the honeymoon phase (it is quite lovely though - just absolutely perfect proportions for a 7inch wrist). Of the three I would say I probably love the Oris the most - but only just and that may change tomorrow. You can't go wrong with any of them really.

I really like the baby alpinist.

But I’d probably save for just a bit more and get a Sinn.  On a strap I think they go for about $1200 USD.

Kinda agree with you, Sinn is amazing!

Those are 3 great watches!  Something to consider is that you could ALMOST get the both Hamilton AND the Seiko at retail for the price of the Oris on the grey market (Certainly for less than retail).

Farer has some great designs!  There are other field watch styles available as well.

Tried to vote Oris but the Hammy got recorded. This case Oris wears small (I like that), the case is handsome, and the crystal and detailed dial all work together really well. I have an older 36mm khaki field that I prefer to the Murph And while I like the Seiko, the Oris wins For me.

Used Sinn 556, or a non-limited Alpinist. I have the SPB089 pictured and love it, but I don't know if it's worth market prices. It was worth the $600 I paid. The SPB157 and a Strapcode bracelet add on separately would still keep you under $1K. Uncle Straps has some options for the Alpinist as well. I love the Oris, but the 50m WR keeps it from being more than a dress watch for me.

They are all great choices. I'm in the market for a watch of this style myself.
Personally I would prefer the ORIS Big Crown Pointer Date Cervo Volante, or in 36mm. Not the 40mm version as I am not fond of the contemporary oversized cases that are popular these days.
With the ORIS you get a better movement, an iconic model for the maison, and actual field watch heritage.
