Ha! I had that one in my hand and changed my mind. You made the right decision.
I think you need something sympathetic to the gold numerals and indices. I tried with a Stapsco:
But, really just experiment until you get it.
Very nice pick-up.

oh damn, did you pick up anything from today? Looking back at my pictures, I regretted not picking up a few pieces but a lot of them weren't working + i wasnt sure if they were quartz or mechanical so cost of watch/pocket watch + service = a mystery and probably too high for me

Today was a little slow for me. I picked up a couple of random things. Got better stuff at a random estate sale. See you out there 👍😎

Nah. I ran into the same problem you were describing. Prices were high for what the pieces were. Next time!
I think it would look lovely on a dark brown strap with some contrast stitching.
Congratulations on your excellent pickup!

I actually have a dark brown strap from another watch and put it next to it. I actually think a lighter brown would fit the piece better since the case is steel, not gold or RG
Can't go wrong with a Milanese strap. They look great with the polished silver case.
A nice rich brown crocodile with gold finishings to pick out the gold in the face
