Adding a Cyclops to a Sapphire Crystal

Has anybody ever added a Rolex like cyclops to a sapphire crystal? I am considering a new watch and I think adding a cyclops viewer over the date window woudl be a great addition. How about removing it if I do not like it? Curious if any viewers have experience adding a cylcops and/or removing one?

Thanks

@Iluvhomages did this to his Duro. I seriously doubt the crystal material makes any difference. I'm pretty sure it's permanently bonded on, so it's easier to get a spare crystal in case it doesn't turn out to one's satisfaction.

I find this question to be painful. I despise cyclopses. It’s one of only two things about my Glycine Airman DC-4 that I despise.

Got this sapphire cyclops with bluish AR coating from AliExpress for about $23. Adds a nice touch to my MDV106 along with the steel bracelet.

It was reasonably easy to do to my SARB. Sapphire (hopefully) cyclops from AliExpress and some thin UV glue. Alignment was stressful untill I remembered that it is a Seiko after all 😜.

I was lucky that AliExpress carries the specific size crystal, I think it’s 32.7x2.7 and also Jody from JOMW did a video tutorial of swapping the crystal. Unless you are for sure of the exact dimensions of the crystal, I’d proceed with caution. Also, the cyclops on mine isn’t exactly over the date window on the X axis even though it is nearly spot on with the 3 o’clock index.

I agree that exact size of crystal is vitally important, but all I did was glue a cyclops on the original crystal.
