Your Pick of the Cartier Tank?

Most Cartier Tank watches are unisex. But given average men's wrist's size, usually a size of at least medium fits better for men. Some Tank lines only carry small and large but not medium. So, I use size large for this poll. There are currently 4 lines of the Tank. 1. Tank Must - Entry level Tank models, all stainless steel, can match with either a leather strap or a stainless steel bracelet. 2. Tank Louis - Likely the most iconic version of the Tank, all with leather strap, in either yellow gold, rose gold or white gold. 3. Tank Americaine - In stainless steel or gold, with leather strap or bracelet. 4. Tank Francaise - In either stainless stain or yellow gold, all matched with a bracelet. Tank Americaine does not speak to me. While Tank Francaise is the most contemporary and interesting one, Tank Louis is the one with the most history behind it. However, Tank Must is essentially the budget version of it. So, my pick is the Tank Must. This is my pick. What is yours?

Solar beat tank must would be my dream one

Tank Louis is a pretty clear winner imo, but it is just really pricey. The Must is a great, more accessible alternative for most of us.

I’m out there in left field, essentially alone, but I’m ok with that. I love the Americaine version! It fits my wrist perfectly. I think it has a decided more masculine look than the original Louis or the Francaise. The manner in which the Roman numerals are proportional to the space is simply brilliant. My preference is for the yellow gold or the platinum CPCP model with the salmon dial.

Ever since seeing the Francaise on this canvas strap I've wanted one (though I wish you could get it in a larger size).

The Must is a classic. 😎

I own a Tank Must Solarbeat, but I plan to one day get a Louis, as it’s probably my grail watch.

Solar powered watch is so convenient. No need to change the battery every few years. I have two solar powered watches but they are from different brands though.

That’s my thought too. I would have gone for Tank Louis if I have unlimited budget! But there are many more watches I want to get. So, Tank Must was what I bought.

That’s a nice watch. I like all these versions. It just comes down to which one I love more. 🤤

Yes, swapping from a bracelet to a leather strap or vice versa changes the style quite a bit, in a positive way.

My heart says americaine but my lifestyle says must.

In that case, I always say, get both! 😆 Both are gorgeous watches!

Got my wife a Tank Must Large. She tried on a Small but - thankfully - preferred the Large. Don't think the Small would look good on my wrist. But she lets me wear her watch from time to time 😎

The Extra Large would look comically large on my wrist. Meanwhile, the Medium Santos fits me like a dream. Cartier's sizing scheme is rather confusing/unhelpful.

I have a Must XL and an Américaine medium that my wife wears (blatantly stole). I have to say that that the Américaine is one of the most beautiful watches I’ve ever seen from any brand. I’m considering getting the Américaine large for myself.

You have a wonderful collection of Cartier Tank!

Tank Must is the only model I and my wife have. Mine is the XL and my wife's is the Large with diamonds. The Tank Must XL and Large are two quite different watches but still similar enough to be considered couple watches.

Thanks for posting the picture. It is a beautiful watch! Yes, I also noted that the same size does not always mean the same thing across different models. So, I really need to try one on my wrist in order to know which size fits me better.

The Must large in the middle is a friend’s watch on the day he bought it. I had to snap a group photo.

A great choice regardless! I'd be in the same spot
