Which Square Cartier Watch do You Own or Like?

Cartier makes a few square watches. See the picture above. Tank Francaise is a subcategory of the Tank line, but it has a square dial, although the case does not look as wide as the Santos. It could be a good option if one is looking for a square watch. Panthere de Cartier is a lady's watch, and thus the sizes available are smaller than the other 3 lines. However, the design of the dial and the case looks very similar to the Santos-Dumont, although the design of the bracelet looks more like jewelry. Santos-Dumont is matched with leather strap only. The design of the bezel is a bit different from the Santos de Cartier. The bezel of the Santos de Cartier seems to be a bit wider and looks more integrated with the bracelet. The bracelet is interchangeable with leather strap. Which of these models do you own or plan to get? If you own more than one, which one is your favorite? And if you don't mind, please share your wearing experience. For example, is it comfortable on your wrist? How about the quality of the watch?

Hmm the only one that doesn’t appeal is the Dumont.

I bought my fiancée a panthere. I think I’d just about go for a Santos for me! (Though happily take a panthere or a new version francaise!)

The "problem" with Cartier is that almost all of their timepieces are beautiful! I already bought a Tank Must (XL) a while ago, as I like its larger size and the more modern look. Having said that, I also love the traditional Tank, despite I found it a bit small for my taste. The Louise is so stunning, and when it is in rose gold and matches with a dark brown leather strap, it is simply perfect.

But I also want to get a square watch, and both the Franchaise and Santos are good looking watches. However, I usually like leather strap more than bracelet. So, perhaps the Santos is a better choice not even over the Franchaise but also the Dumont, because I could get both a leather strap and a bracelet for the Santos and give me two styles with just one watch.

There are so many good watches in the market. Can't really buy them all, at least, at once! These will have to be added to my list for further consideration and wait. 😢

Get a santos as it comes with strap and bracelet and it’s maybe the best of the bunch. On a recent trip to Harrods in London it jumped out as one of the nicest looking watches there from any brand (whilst also being one of the cheapest)

I own a Santos. It's extremely comfortable, both relatively thin and great curvature of the lugs. It might be my most comfortable watch. It's the black ADLC so I nice change from the typical stainless steel. Has held up well and is the perfect change of pace watch in terms of looks. It's sporty and versatile. Great watch

All apart from the Panthere. The tank Francaise is supremely comfortable, although I don't like the revamp.

·

Santos Dumont every time for me! I don't own one yet but I've tried them on a few times, a very special piece even as quartz.

·

I voted D because that is the model that I have owned after my first purchased in the late 80s, since then I have added a 100XL and a blue dial L of the most recent Santos. I would add a Tank Americaine if Cartier would launch one with MC movement. Just do not believe 10k cad is a fair price for an ETA or whatever movement usually fitted into much more inexpensive watches.

Mrs has a Ballon Bleu, but I'd choose the Santos Dumont but I'm not sophisticated enough to pull it off. 👍

Tank Must. I also like the Santos and the Panthere.

How's the Ballon Bleu look and feel in person? I found the crown design very unique.

I also like the Dumont the most among all the options here, but if I am to get one, I will likely go for the Santos de Cartier instead, just because it can match with both a bracelet and a leather strap. I think the dial and bezel design of the two models is close enough for me to consider them essentially the same watch if I just match the Santos with a strap.

Very nice watch!

Interesting bracelets too. The love bracelet is very nice and more in line with traditional look, but the Juste un Clou bracelet is such an interesting concept! Never thought of basing the idea on a nail! Very creative!

I went with the small. Figured the Tank is supposed to be small

Good choice! The watch looks perfect on your wrist both in terms of size and style! 😀

It's very tactile, an exquisite little watch.

Ah, yes in that case I'd go Santos de Cartier too.

Lovely 😍
