Need help with Seiko Alpinist Ginza sapphire crystal upgrade

Hey guys, I already shared with you how much I love my Seiko Alpinist Ginza a couple of times. However, there is one thing that has been bothering me about this watch - the crystal. Don't get me wrong, the OEM crystal is fine, but there are situations and angles where everything reflects, and it's difficult to see the dial clearly. Therefore, I believe that a double AR coated sapphire crystal for this watch will make the dial and hands pop out even more and take the watch to the next level.

I remember owning an Omega Aqua Terra that had a sapphire crystal with double AR coating. From certain angles, it looked like there was no crystal at all, and the clarity was simply stunning. I'm hoping to achieve a similar effect with my Seiko Alpinist Ginza.

Although I've done some research online, I'm not sure which websites or companies are reliable and offer high-quality products since I've never modified any of my watches. Therefore, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place where I can get a double AR coated sapphire crystal for my Seiko Alpinist Ginza.

I would really appreciate any advice or recommendations you guys may have. Thank you in advance for your help!

See if they have one for your model.

One thing to bear in mind before spending money, is that the extremely reflective dial of that version of the Alpinist will cause issues no matter how good the AR coating is.

·

That's one hell of a pretty watch🤩

Your going to have to find the replacement by size as most all the Seiko mods are for the SKX and the SRP range.

·

Why is a crystal replacement needed? If you have a single AR coat it's probably on the inside anyway no? Maybe someone could "simply" apply one on the outside? What am I missing :'D

Try these guys, https://usa.crystaltimes.net I’ve used them and also AliExpress but the later can be hit and miss and takes forever to arrive. Crystal Times will actual be able to answer question about what you have in mind and help you get the right thing. This double dome, dial and hands are from them.

As mentioned, check with Marc at LongIsland watch

So cool

I have the same issue with my cream dial version but I believe it’s the single dome sapphire crystal. It should really have been double domed as destortion is minor compared to the destortion on a single dome.

I have the same watch and have the same issue. Did you find a crystal?
