Oh yes, I buy vintage pieces from trusted and well-established dealers with good return policies only. It is a little more expensive this way but you protect your investment.
I also have an experienced and certified watchmaker reviewing all vintage piece I buy and I had avoided this way problems and frustration.
I ordered that exact same watch you have, a real beauty. But the second day I placed my order I changed my mind and I asked the dealer to change it to the one I own.
I do love old cars too, my father owned and classic Mercedes-Benz from the 50s I believe, when I was a child in El Salvador. God, my dad loved that car and that was another reason I got me this watch.
I believe I will sell it, it is a beautiful watch indeed but it does not make me as happy as day one so it gets very little wrist time.
Vintage are trouble sometimes, I do agree. That is why I got me this Junghans but those Timex of yours I must admit look closer to vintage watches. Are those 36 millimeters? That would be another point to Timex over Junghans because mine is 40 millimeters 😞.
