Leather straps or metal bracelets? Which is your favorite for your watches?

Unpacking after a business trip and re-discovering how much I love them and why leather straps are my favorite.

From a casual look to a formal, executive look, the right leather strap selection exponentially elevates the beauty of your timepieces. This is my opinion and personal choice every time. What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

Both, it depends on the watch with me

It depends on the watch, the weather and the occasion as far as I'm concerned.

I tend to prefer straps on dressier watches and bracelets on sportier watches. Some watches seem to really only work well with one or the other. Most watches seem to work well with either, and for those, I tend to go bracelet in the summer, and the warmth of a leather strap for the colder winter months.

Both of those vintage Omegas work very well on the straps shown, and I don't think they would look anywhere near as nice on a bracelet.

10 of my 12 watches are on leather or rubber. I like the lightness aspect of straps over the bracelets.

·

Depends on the watch, but on the vintage and dress, leather is the way to go. Great watches there!

·

Agree, it's a function of the weather, the watch and the occasion. I swap occasionally.

For rubber straps, it often comes to "Does smelling like a vanilla Yankee candle go with my outfit?" 😜

Oyster bracelets ALL day long hands down 🤙🏽

There has not been a bracelet made that is as comfortable as a nice leather strap.

·

Vintage always leather, newer current models depends entirely on the watch. I recently found the “right” strap for my bronze Glycene, had tried a padded leather & a different NATO & the rubber original none worked, but this one did.

Can’t pick a favorite on this one. Aged leather on my field watch, bracelet on the speedy, black crock on the vintage dress, rubber on the diver Love them all.

·

Bracelets for me - I like the idea of straps but they only ever last a day or two before I put the bracelet back on again

·

Leather most of the time, rubber for sports. Its rare for me to find a bracelet I like

·

I’m wearing a bracelet 90% or the time.

·

I prefer bracelets on my watches but will always have one watch on a leather strap. My collection is a lot of tool watches. Diver, field, pilot, chronograph, dressy sport, etc.

·

I'm always wearing leather, even through heatwaves.

Comfort is a huge decision criteria for me too, I agree 100%.

Anything but nato

Anything but nato

I had that same opinion but during summer, I had found a high quality NATO strap on a field watch match beautifully and wears comfortably.
