Scots Crunchers

Having been resident on WC for a few months now, I realise just how diverse & multi-national the community is. This thread is however purely a call to the Scots based members that are active here.

I can see there's quite a few of you out there & I just wanted to take the opportunity to say hello to you all & to wish you all the best for 2024. If you see this post drop by & say hello. It's always good to hear of your experiences, tips, best retailers etc that are local to all of us. I hope to be able to make better buying & selling decisions in the coming year with your help 👍

It never leaves. Much as I enjoyed my couple of years in Hungary, the excitement of being on the plane home for a w/e was hard to beat 💪

Scotland 🤔hmm you mean that cold bit of woodline top of England 🤣

Is anordain big in the local watch community?

Well I'm a big fan of them, although I'm more than a bit p1ssed at the way they do business at this time.

I managed to get my hands on this model earlier in the year;

One of the Gods, don't care which one, looked down on me with favour & I was given the opportunity to buy the watch from the only retailer that was authorised to sell AnOrdain. I didn't think twice & bought it on the spot for retail price. The iron cream dial is very nice but given the choice I would never have picked it. Needless to say after 4 months of owning it & buying an Omega Aqua Terra Summer Blue I needed to raise some cash. I sold it inside a week ashamedly for a significant profit. Still a lot lower a price than I've seen others being sold for but I felt dirty on the sale's completion. The buyer was over the moon with it, it has to be said.

In November 2022 I paid a £400 deposit to secure an AnOrdain of my choice & 15 months on I await their email asking me to choose the watch I want with an ETA on Jun/July this year. Ridiculous amount of time to have to pay an advance deposit for a watch I haven't seen or had the chance to try on. I'm sure it'll be worth it when I do get it, the only decision right now is which dial to pick.

Outwith us watch Geeks, An Ordain are hardly known by a soul in Scotland & despite being in Glasgow, I doubt there's many people in my home town that have heard of them either.

It's not cold any longer, this climate change nonsense sees me sitting outside on my decking this morning, basking in glorious sunshine 😜

Theres always ads for them in the Subway, them and Paulin watches. But I've yet to spot one in the wild.

Theyre so popular abroad in the community, but interesting that they advertise

I wouldn’t worry about that, Aberdonians don’t even like Aberdeen 😂😛

I’m rarely on the underground but I did notice an ad for them the last time I was.

There’s more chance of spotting a wild Haggis in the Cairngorms than spotting an AnOrdain in the wild 😛
