Seiko Void

So I just sold my Seiko SNXS79. Great watch, I just didn't wear it enough, and now I have a Seiko Void in my collection. If you have $300-500, what Seiko are you getting? For some additional context:

-I'm interested in the new GMT, but it looks like a little big.

-I love the look of the SRPG, but I already have a Khaki Field.

-I like the Speedtimer, but I already have 2 chronos.

-Love the look of the SPB143, but need to wait/save a bit.

What are your thoughts? And feel free to push back on any of the above 🙂 Thanks!

How about a cocktail time? They have a unique look and come in a massive range of striking colours. Plus I don't see a dress watch mentioned in your post.

I have the 34mm Bellini. I love the other dial designs but I'm a fan of classically sized dress watches and most of the range is only available in 39-41mm.

Sharp Edge line also worth a look for something different.

Good suggestion... My "dress" watches sometimes tend to be neglected a bit.

That's a good idea... seems like a super versatile watch.

Maybe a cocktail time bracelet model - easier to dress down.

Seiko SSK GMT. I have a 6.5” wrist and it works for me.

I really want to like it! I'm going to try one on next week.

You can take a look at the other field variant in the Seiko 5 lineup. There are a couple of new 36mm variants too which got released this year.

SRPJ87 (white) and SRPJ80 (green). Both come on Seiko's new leather straps which are actually good for the price and are usable. There are also 39mm variants like the SRPH21, SRPH23, SRPH27 and SRPH29.

Presage cocktail 38mm variants are good too like the SRPE41/43/45. There are also few funky colors in that series.

If it's a direct replacement for the SNXS79, then a SARB035 fits the bill. Should be doable at the budget you mentioned just about.

Quick edit 😁 Remembered that the 79 is a black dial, so the 033 would be more fitting

Awesome ideas... I had my eye on the new srpj, but didn't realize there's a 39mm option.

In that price range, I'm most likely going vintage. For example, Lord Matics and Lord Matic Specials can often be had for a great bargain. My Lord Matic Special 5216-8020 is powered by a premium grade 28,800 bph chronometer accurate movement and has a case design that you can only find in Grand Seiko if you were to look for a modern equivalent. All for just under 430 USD.

For my penny's worth an Astron. Rare as hens teeth as never see them out and about. This one JDM only (maybe) link below.

The 39mm variants have longer lugs at 48mm keeping up with the field watch design but still wear slightly smaller on the wrist.

The 36mm has 44.5mm lug to lug, which should be nicer for small wrists.

Try them on in person if you can.

Incredibly sad to hear you gave up your SNXS79, as it is a legend of a timepiece...

For me, I'll never let go of this stunner. But of course, to each his own, bud. 👍 Hope you find a Seiko that you will really love.

You can save up a bit and get a vintage King Seiko Chronometer i saw them for around 800 Euro without shipping

Love that watch, and honestly, might end up with it again someday... but I recently got a grey Halios Universa, and for me there was just a bit too much overlap, and it was causing me to wear both less. So for now, looking for a new seiko :)

Second hand Seiko Gen 1 monster

Can be snagged for about £250-£290 in good condition

A classic even now, and despite there being loads you still rarely see one in the wild.

·

Have you looked at the szsb's? The can be found new at the low end of your budget.

·

For my money, it would be the SNJ025, or another version of the Seiko Arnie!
