Still A Keeper 6 Months Later?

I can't believe that it's been 6 months since I got this watch on my wrist! Despite all the talk about the thickness of the watch (a non-issue for me), this has been one of the most comfortable watches I've ever owned, and the comfort alongside the clean tool watch aesthetic helped solidify the Black Bay Pro as a keeper in my collection.

Has the Black Bay Pro achieved keeper status for anyone else?

Love it so much, I’m very tempted. When I tried it on it didn’t seem to thick for me.

Very nice!

I have the GMT and it’s a keeper for me also.  I just wish it hadn’t needed warranty work 6 mos. into ownership. ::grumble::

(go for it!!!) I'm glad to hear that you didnt think it was too thick initially, bc that means it'll wear even better as time passes!

Ah yeah the BB GMT is an awesome watch for sure but sad to hear that your watch needed to get sent in so quickly. I'm guessing it was for the date wheel? Thankfully it seems that Tudor has ironed out those issues with the BB Pro but I'm knocking on wood everyday lol!

The only problem is the waitlists,I have my name down in 2 places but I’ve had no luck yet.

I'm glad that you liked it, Tudor did well with this one! Yeah the thickness on paper is a bit daunting, but seems like most people who try it on are ok with the thickness which is very promising!

·

Yeah, the thickness on paper is chunky but it seems like most people are ok when its actually on the wrist so hopefully it works for you! So it depends really on the shirt cuff in question and how loose or tight you wear your cuffs. I cant stand tight watches and the same thing goes for cuffs so my BB Pro did manage to slide under the cuff although sometimes i had to adjust it slightly.

That being said i find it easier to slip under than my speedy just bc the side of the BB Pro is relatively smooth whereas the bezel of the speedy juts out and catches on everything lol!

ah yeah sucks that Tudor continues to have waitlists! I feel like the wait shouldnt be too long all things considered, so I've got my fingers crossed for you😀

You know I've been on record saying this is just an homage to a Rolex so I'd buy a cheaper homage instead. However, over the last few months my opinion on this topic has changed.

Next time I'm traveling were an AD has this Tudor I'm going to try it on. The more I look at the images the more it appeals to me and I actually don't mind a thicker watch if it's a tool watch. Long story short depending on how I like it when I actually touch one I could see this potentially becoming my first Grail Watch. Which means I'll likely buy it immediately (is it still a Grail if you do that ... maybe I need to hold off and earn it somehow first)

What warranty work did you need done?

Timing was off and WAAAY out of COSC spec. I was getting between -9 and -12 sec/day.

Nope.  Date wheel was fine.  It wasn’t keeping time correctly.

Wore mine like 50% of the time since i got it in June.

During summer on a Black/Yellow Nato, right now again on the bracelet. And just bought a NTTD Nato for it. :)

Gotta try it on man. I felt the same about the Pelagos until I actually wore it. Now an owner. Might change your opinion… might confirm it. Only one way to find out.

Y'know, my IWC 3706 pilot's chrono is super thick (I haven't actually measured it, but it's powered by a modified 7750 so you already have an idea...) but it just sorta fits the watch. It seems like the BB Pro is similar - it's an aggressive tool watch, and its dimensions and wrist presence back that up. I agree with your point in the video that it would've been made even better with a rotatable steel bezel. That would truly have set it apart while maintaining the interesting (in a good way!) aesthetics.

I may be in Vancouver or Toronto in January or February and plan to definitely do just that. I’m pretty sure I’ll like it my only apprehension is the Snow Flake Hands. I believe I’m on record not liking Snowflake hands but I may be changing my mind on that also 🤔

·

It really depends on the size of your wrist, I really wanted it to fit confortable because the watch looks great, but it felt thick and head heavy, I hope someday they will make it thinner.

·

The Black Bay Pro is such a stunning piece! I hope it gets the wearing-time it deserves ;)

·

I have seen an homage NH copy , Seiko movement not thick at all , even seeing a $500 copy made me desire the real thing though . Its on my list :)

·

I too had the watch for just about 6 months and I must say it instantly became my everyday piece. Yes, I wish it was a tad thinner and yes I wish the bracelet had no fake rivets, however both are elements that are not noticeable when wearing. It was indeed one of the most comfortable watches I have worn and I have a 7.25" wrist.

However I did just decide to trade it for a Ranger. The main and really only reason why is because in my collection, the Ranger fits the everyday, GADA (Go Anywhere, Do Anything), beater category far better (that is for my collection). If I didn't have another GMT, then I think the PRO would be the better option as it would fit both categories, GMT and GADA.

It was very difficult to take the jump and trade it, but unfortunately I can't afford them all.

Is this still in your collection?
