Vario 1918
I absolutely fell in love with this watch when I first saw it. I love military watches, and they don't come any more military than the original Trench Watch. The strap is amazing, the face is exquisite and I adore the the cathedral hands.
This is by far the best watch in my collection, I think.

My biggest gripe with this piece is the use of the Miyota 8000 series, which I despise.

Why? I have a few watches with Miyota movements and they‘ve all been fine.
I‘ve heard tons of good things about Vario, so I just went on the website and my favorite looking one is the 37mm white lume, white dial. Tell me…did you get the 40mm? If so, what size is your wrist and how does it wear? I am really torn which size to get as I have a 7 1/4” wrist.

I got the smaller one because I like smaller watches. I also have 7.25” wrists, so the pic above should give you an idea
I agree 100%! I bought my Vario in November & absolutely love it. I added two straps thinking I might not like the bund strap; turns out I'm a bund kind of guy after all.
I bought the 40mm because the small seconds doesn't cut off the 6 on this size. I only have four watches and don't have much to compare this to, but it certainly gets the most comments when I wear it.

I considered the 40mm for the same reason, but I do generally prefer smaller watches and the cut off 6 is more authentic to the trench watches of the day.

Yeah, the 1945 looks lovely too. They've gone with a Dirty Dozen vibe for that one. I particularly like the light dialled version.

When I see things from World war 1 . I get a queasy dread 😬, I won’t do a past life regression therapy because I really don’t want confirmed any war memories I may possess. So a pass from me sorry , hope you enjoy it . Sorry I am a member of the Tinfoil hat club apart from loving timepieces.
