Just to be clear, I'm not anti - #blancswatch but after coming across the #seiko Autobot Chronograph earlier this morning, I'm firmly of the opinion that there is better value to be had at the $USD400.⁰⁰ price point that still captures some of the #limitededition vibe - the Autobot only has 300 pieces worldwide, yet is infinitely more accessible than the #antarctic from #swatch.
So next up, the #seiko5sports Laurel 110th Seiko Wristwatchmaking Anniversary edition.

The 110th #anniversary of #seiko making watches is a big deal as you'd imagine, and there is a Laurel model across all of Seiko's current collections dubbed the #craftsmanship line:
Top L-R: #presage SPB401, Presage SPB413, Presage SSK015 (#gmt)
Bottom L-R: #prospex #alpinist SPB409 (I really want one of these!), Prospect SFJ009 #speedtimer, #astron SSJ019, and the Seiko 5 Sports SRPK41.
And it is the SPRK41 that I would recommend. Limited to 6000 pieces world wide, this is the first of the #skx-like "new" Seiko 5's that I like, and actually captures the feel of the "old" Seiko 5 style.
(Each of the above models are limited to between 800-6000 pieces).
Why do I like this new 5?
Just look at it.
Cream #dial? Nice. #fieldwatch style 24 hour inner markers? Love it. #crown at 3 o'clock! Thank goodness! Are the hands blued? Probably not... But it could be worse. Likewise, the cal.4R36 is what it is...
And that #bracelet looks amazing, and I bet it will rip every hair from my arm. Luckily the SPRK41 comes with an additional leather strap:

And all this, for the same price as a #blancswatch.

I really should get a #northport. #islander is a cool brand and Marc seems pretty cool. However, to stick to my original point there has to be a limited edition-like factor to my selection of a "watch you could be buying instead of a SwatchPain*😜

An even more rare than the Swatchcombos but way more capable option is any Scurfa watch. They have a 100 limited edition titanium launch on Tuesday. Exceptional watches with real dive pedigree for the same price as the Blancswatch
I'd like to Seiko see reissue lots and lots of the old school 5s (the little ones) with quartz movements instead of the 7s26.
But . . . a lot of people would like Seiko to do a lot of things.
