TGI(M)F* or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Coming Home for Lunch

BLUFF: Long, rambling post inbound, you've been warned!!
Pretty Sure Tali could care less about my #wruw, quartz/mech, WR, sapphire v acrylic, if my watch fits under a cuff, or if my wrist isn't big enough, or my watch is small enough...
She's just down for affection from Dad.
I LOVE labs.
I've spent most of my life around various labradors, and a lot of the dogs used in the explosive world are labs.
Just something about Labs. And yes her name is Tali. And no it's not short. If she had a full name it'd prolly be something like Tali'Zorah vas Yetti (IFYKYK 😉).
I have however learned over the years to introduce any pups I have to playing with cheap shop towels for Impromptu fetch, tug of war, comfort blankets, etc.
It is a known fact that labs naturally have a very strong oral fixation (🤔 mind out of the gutter you dirty peeps) and they like to hold items or gently mouth things. Mrs. Solidyetti and I are careful to encourage good play and no shredding, and if stuff gets torn, we replace them.
Nice thing is we don't have to worry about socks, baby toys, etc getting eaten. Downside, there's always towels pulled out of the kitchen hamper, cuz you can't greet Dad or Mom WITHOUT something in your mouth, dontcha know...😂
But I digress.
So often we get wrapped up in all the extra stuff, chasing the dream, the next watch, the next strap, worried about WR, what others think of our larger watch, if this watch is to small (hint it's not @Aurelian @Porthole @PoorMansRolex ), is it too flashy, too flexy, too drab, whatever.
Let's not forget to come home at lunch if possible and hold those who really matter.
Does it mean dog hair gets all over the work pants? Can it be a hassle, take longer than "technically" allowed? Yes.
Is it worth it? Yes. Instant stress relief to be greeted with wagging tails, a screech and a loud "Hold you daddy."
We aren't promised the next second, much less the next homecoming. Live dangerously safe so you can go home for lunch.
Hold them tight, hold them close, and have fun.

I also have a model SS Normandy 2 and a Shepherd action figure (unopened) if you need more proof of my ME love...speaking of love... your lab Tali. Gorgeous. Told my kids that we'll get a dog as soon as they agree to poop patrol. Still haven't gotten a dog yet...
As for me? I'm working through lunch with a sparkling water and a Coke, 2 phones, and a half eaten sandwich to my right. I'm going to go home tonight and hug my kids.
ASIDE...when @DeeperBlue was around, we were half joking we needed a Mass Effect thread here only. So much to unpack. Gotta say FemShep's voice is...alluring.😂

I miss playing Fallout New Vegas so much on the PS3 it would break through the poor memory management. Try fighting Great Khans in the mountains on 0.30FPS, it’s like WC on a good day.

In terms of the game...ME2 was superior to ME3. Getting Martin Sheen to be the Illusive Man was a stroke of genius. And Yvonne Stravhovski as Miranda...bro, have your seen Chuck. The ending for ME3 left me...disappointed for sure.
I was so looking forward to ME:Andromeda and was sorely disappointed by the buggy gameplay and lazy story. The main characters were uninspiring.

I never played the games…yes the Power Armors are overpowered but the Ghoul evens the playing field.
When I see the ghoul I always see Boyd Crowder from Justified

My daughter (who arrived the same time Maggie departed) hasn’t had a family dog and we should give her the chance.

I've come to the conclusion the Catalyst was a lying sack of shit. The control/blue ending was total indoctrination.
What really matters indeed...
