Hublot Classic Fusion Orlinski vs. Rolex OP 39

Hello fellow WatchCrunchers, I have a couple of milestones that I am celebrating this year, and I wanted to get a nice watch to commemorate the occasions. I love the Rolex OP 39 in Red Grape, but I currently came across the Hublot Classic Fusion Orlinski, which is quite stunning. I need help deciding. Both would be pre-owned, and the pricing is similar between the two. I know Hublot gets much hate, but I have yet to see much on the Orlinski models, a smaller watch for Hublot (40mm) that fit well on my smaller wrists.

I know the Rolex will take this by a landslide, but if you genuinely find the Hublot interesting, buy it.

I'd rather be the guy with the interesting watch, than the guy with the boring "safe bet" that everyone else owns.

That OP is already turning into a future classic. Absolutely stunning in person, so it gets my vote.

This is tough for me as I rarely have trouble picking between two watches. I went with the Rolex because I find it more attractive, but I also think you should buy what you like. The Hublot is, strangely, a good looking watch, so I don’t have real strong feelings here.

But as always, buy what you love and will wear.

If you are torn between the two, be different to the crowd and buy the Hublot.

The orlinski is really good looking in that future watch kinda way. The one design choice that's a little hard is the floating Hublot logo that I think is printed below the glass.

Haven't seen it in person so that's great to know!

It's the bottom of the seconds hand - agree it is the one design choice that I wasn't in love with.

Sorry, I wasn't super clear. I know the seconds hand has an H as a counterbalance. I meant the printed name and logo on the glass (at the 12) with the reflection/shadow on the dial.

Ahh yes I see what you mean

I think the Orlinski is so beautiful and dynamic and I’ve considered it hard before but spending 10k+ for an SW300-based movement is a hard sell. But I’d still rather own that than the OP

I picked the Rolex due to the unusual dial , something you might want to think about is the price of getting either serviced,it might sway you

Excellent point - thank you! Will look into that.

I prefer the Hublot to be honest, but for me it couldn't be "only" expensive watch, as it is hardly a daily driver. So Hublot if you have other pieces to turn with, otherwise maybe the OP with this beautiful dial color

Excellent point. It would be a daily driver so maybe the OP is the way to go. Thanks!
