For comparison, this is a similar watch in my collection. My grandfather’s 1975 Bulova Accutron. A retirement gift from his job. 34mm case. 17mm lug. Very thin, not sure of the thickness but it looks like the same case as yours. The letter N on the caseback indicates 1975. M would be 1976 ect. Great watch, keeps excellent time but eats batteries bc you can’t buy the correct mercury battery anymore.
Quartz is superior in every way. It keeps better time. It’s inexpensive. Rolex made quartz watches in the 70’s, when Quartz was a new, expensive movement. Then the quartz crisis happened. The current attitude to quartz watches comes from marketing. Why would you pay $4000 USD for a Tudor BB58 when it can’t keep better time than a $15 USD Casio F91W? The answer is the attitude driven marketing. Nice Bulova Accutron Space watch btw! I have a 1975 BA, it’s an amazing vintage American brand.

My dad was my watch buddy. He had a 1961 Rolex OP that he bought brand new for $75 USD at the Navy PX when he was stationed overseas. He wore it as his dress watch for the rest of his life. He wore beater watches to work and got me started wearing them at a young age starting with a Casio F91. I’m now 54 and recently bought my 9 year old son his first Casio. The tradition continues. Lol.
