I’m not driven by artsy stuff…I’m more interested in timeless quality that transcends genres and generations. I’m building a collection that can withstand time, and the artsy stuff might fall in that category.  But probably won’t.

The only "artsy" watch I've seen online that I'd own is this one..

I SWEAR this is not what it looks like (except it kind of is) - YouTube

Everyone should have a fun, crazy watch. They are usually pretty terrible for telling the time though.

I'm a big fan of the Mr Jones Watch "Step Right Up" which they inexplicably persist in not reissuing. However, I rarely wear mine as it's just atrocious for telling time with a quick glance.

And of course any statement piece suffers from impracticality or the novelty wearing off.

Humism does fascinating stuff, but I doubt I could wear them.

Artsy watches are really the only ones worth having - take lame over dull every day

·

A Reverso with an enamel painting on the back looks fun! Maybe best if it were a unique, personalized design.

I ordered two Mr.Jones watches (The Accurate and a Perfectly Useless Afternoon) on their Black Friday sale and I can’t wait until they arrive! Will update when I get them in person

I prefer practicality first

Please. The Accurate is the only “artsy” watch that tempts me, and I love it.

It has a good beat.

Some of the more recent customized Reverso models and many Jaquet Droz complications are amazing in this category. I think it usually depends on the skill involved and level of finish that determines if I like an “artsy” watch. However, visual impact wins in the end.

They arrived today and they both look stunning! Can’t wait to wear them out. So far very pleased.

They are beautiful. The lug shape on The Accurate is really elegant. Your pics are better than the ones on the Mr. Jones website. Capture the dial’s lightplay wonderfully.

Enjoy them!
