Debating My Birthday Watch Purchase

35th bday coming up and after an amazing 2023 wrapped up with a few big professional successes. As such, I’m planning to treat myself with another watch. I’ve had my eyes on a chronograph for a while and there’s something vintage and yet sleek and modern about the BB Chronos from Tudor. I’m partial to the S&G models. Any owners willing to comment on their experience?

Not an owner (so maybe shouldn't be commenting😖) but I was drooling at one of these (on the bund strap) through a shop window the other day. Sweet watch.

Don’t own one but have a few other Tudor and always thought these chronographs look great, particularly the colour you are looking at 👌As an alternative if you are after a vintage style chronograph Hanhart are well worth a look

I have this exact configuration (got it as a birthday present to myself, in fact) and I love it. I read lots of comments on it thickness, but I really don’t mind it at all. Can be dressed up or down. It’s great!

Looks great. Go for it.

I have the reverse panda and I love it for me it wears perfect. I think the s&g models are gorgeous 😍

The chronograph stop/start/reset is so crisp, its fantastic. Being column wheel I appreciate the instant starting of the second hand, something that I dislike about my speedmaster, it starts erratically.

Only downside for me is the 60 minute chronograph, I much prefer a 12hr one.

S&G looks amazing tho!

What year is your Speedmaster? That’s also a watch on my short list but I feel like you’re paying a lot for the watch you get. From what I’ve read they’ve improved the “crispness” of the chrono activation with the newer 2021 + movement

I have the latest 3861 speedmaster, the Tudor b01 movement still has superior crispness however, speedmaster one is decent feeling but you can see sometimes on activation the second hand sometimes jumps a little

I cannot comment on the chronograph, but I have the Black Bay GMT in steel and gold (on bracelet) and well, yeah. It's awesome.
