My collection so far. Looking to fill that last slot.

Hey everyone, started collecting watches recently despite not being an accessory sort of guy myself. I've got a tiny 5.5" wrist and have worn watches that were too big previously without knowing too much about them.

So now with a new found interest and some research, I've built my collection centred around affordable small watches. Here's the list (from left to right):

  1. Timex Marlin 34mm (Dressy, Hand-wind)

  2. Islander PAN AM 38mm (Diver, Dual-Time, Automatic)

  3. Tissot PRX 35mm (Sporty, Quartz)

  4. Dan Henry 1975 37mm (Skindiver, Meca-Quartz

  5. Casio DW5600DE (Beater, Quartz)

So there's that obvious last slot, so I'm just taking my time to consider what style of watch I would like. I'm missing a field/explorer style watch, or another Dressy datejust kind of option.

Shortlist so far:

  1. Boldr (Range from 38mm field to chronographs)

  2. Lorier Falcon or Astra

  3. Christopher Ward's C63 36mm looks great but out of my price range currently (plus they are partnered with Everton🤮)

  4. Brew watches look pretty cool (Narrowed down to Brew Metric PVD Black, what a stunner)

  5. Kuoe also have nice vintage dressy watches at 34mm

  6. Hamilton Pilot Pioneer 36mm

  7. Nivada Grechen Datomaster 36mm

Thoughts on my collection so far? And any other suggestions for my last watch (in this initial stage/version of my collection)?

Edit: Forgot about Kuoe, added them to the shortlist

Edit 2: Added Hamilton and Nivada shortlist options

We have the same wrist size! I looked at the Lorier Astra and the only drawback per the owner is that they don’t know when they will be ready for purchase. I guess they have hit a lot of snags it sounds like quality control issues. Since you are in Singapore Boldr may be a good option or whenever Zelos has another release they have 38 mm watches sometimes.

I was thinking Brew before I read your post. Add that chronograph!

Glad to know there's more of us out there. Nevermind watches, straps are a headache as well.

I'm willing to wait it out for this last one, so I'm excited what Lorier has in store.

Boldr I'm just concerned about the overall wrist presence since their watches can go up to 14mm in thickness.

Zelos watches look really cool with their crazy range of textured dials, but I'm just wary of the lug to lug, anything above 44mm and the watch may look too big on my wrist. My wrist width is about 45mm from top view.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Yeah I actually only just stumbled upon them today and they look real unique alright!

Here is my 38 mm Zelos on my wrist. The bracelet had a weird bump on it so I swapped it for a leather strap. Admittedly, I do push the boundaries on size. Biggest watch I had was 42 mm.

I like your collection a lot! It is interesting, beautiful and reasonably priced.

I’d also second the Brew Chronograph option. It would fit this collection nicely I think.

·

Wearing my Brew today... super nice, but does wear a little large. How about a smaller casio or khaki field?

Thanks! Yeah the more I look at them plus the dimensions, it's a really good fit. Maybe I'll hold off till Christmas. I collected all this in like 2 months 😆

Nice collection. Good start covering your bases. The Falcon would be a great add here.

·

Take a look at the Seiko JDM SBTR line of quartz chronographs. They pack a big bang for the buck. Easy to find on Amazon and eBay.

Yeah may hold out and see if they will offer a 36mm range in the future. My collection is missing a 36mm specifically if you've noticed hahaha

A Brew watch would be cool

·

Oh yes, I completely forgot about them. Yeah they've got very vintage dressy pieces and at 34mm they fit me easily. Thanks for reminding me!

My 1st thought as well.

Maybe something a little punchier? Longines Spirit 37mm?

Nice, love the detailing! But over my price point for now. I'll work my way up eventually. Thanks for suggesting!

You need a flieger! Laco Augsburg 39 👌

Great collection! I’d toss in a recommendation for the Lorier Falcon. Especially since it looks like you enjoy smaller, more vintage-inspired pieces. It might slot in nicely as a black dial GADA for you. It’s a gorgeous little watch, if I do say so myself. Best of luck in the search! 🍻

I'd get a chronograph. Like a Strela or a Nivada. Something vintage. But that's just me. Seems like you've got the other classes covered.

·

If you decide to get a Field Watch, Seiko has several nice 36mm field watches in the Seiko 5 Collection that are very affordable. For a little more money Hamilton has a nice collection at 38mm (Hamilton is generally regarded as the field watch king). For dress, I'd take a look at Baltic. They have a few really nice 36mm dress watches that are pretty inexpensive.

·

I never heard of Kuoe. Just checked website and I like their 35mm field. Looks like a great choice for small wrist

·

The Seiko SNK800 series (particularly the 809) are a 37-38mm classic! Automatic movement and a Field watch meets Type-B Flieger aesthetic!

Casio Edifice EFV-110D is another 37-38mm beauty that has some serious "Aquaterra" vibes goin' on!

·

Nice collection. I think a brew watch would look great in it.

I have a 6-watch collection by now. Those 4 ones in the box and also 2 in another city. Waiting for my family to send me them.
