Why did I instantly like the Sinn 556I RS?
When I first saw a the Sinn 556 I RS, I was immediately excited about it.
Something about the dial layout felt appealing and familiar. I knew that I wanted to have this watch after the first sight. But the price tag was to heavy for me at that point.
As i was looking further around, I kept comparing watches to the Sinn and, also with the help of the watchcruch community, I finally decided to pull the trigger. In short: the best decision I made this year so far regarding watches. I'm happy with it since day one.
After owning it for a few weeks I noticed something when I set the time in the morning. I either use my phone for that or an old quartz clock that is standing in my living room. Basically the goto watch to look at when I’m laying on the sofa and I’m to lacy to raise my arm.
Turns out I’ve been looking at an inverted version of the Sinn 556 I RS for more than 20 years and didn’t notice it. It even has a red second hand I totally forgot about.

Reall nice piece, was in same situation few years ago. When they were sub 1.000€ I was close to buying 556I as daily driver but hesitated a bit and after price jump I ultimately decided for Alpinist. Still loving the watch, not so much the H style SS bracelet and current 1.400€ pricetag. May it serve you well, it is a great piece despite my comments😀Should they improve the bracelet and especially the clasp I might reconsider it again.

fortunately i don't like bracelets at all and got a Sinn leather strap. but it was still a little bit over 1000€. at least i missed the latest price jump.

pretty much. it's so deep in there that i only see the time but no design elements.

What not to like! Simple but distinct design. High legibility. Toolie but still quite elegant. The red accent to spice it up a notch.

Unfortunatly the Box is full and a Vintage Certina might be on it‘s way 😬. But the Mondaine is nice. I like the seconds hand.
Good-looking watch for sure. I’m on the fence between this model and a Damasko DS30 for my next watch—I’m torn. But if I had to choose, I think I like the aesthetics of the Sinn a little more.

The damasko has more colors to choose from but i also prefere a even more minimal style.
