Similar watches?

My wife pointed this ad out to me as a watch she could actually imagine wearing. I think it’s more the rose/peach gold color and the teal (or deep contrast) dial than it is the flowers.

Not psyched about potentially gifting a fossil watch that may not last or feel cheap… any suggestions for higher quality, similar watches?

Note: she has very very tiny wrists, so probably the smaller the better

Lol this. But if you’re dead set against Fossil, Shinola has a few very nice similar round case designs in 34mm. Yeah, I know, not much better, but check out the birdy series - the finish is really good for a quartz movement and looks great on my wife’s slender wrists

Just get the one she's asking for.

·

Buy what she likes and will enjoy. You have step away from the eyes of a watch nerd. Most people just wear a watch because it looks nice or because it’s there.

You could bring her down to a store/AD and let her look at and try on different watches. She might end up picking up a watch made of solid rose gold that will cost many times more than the Fossil. It will last and not feel cheap. 😆

·

Don't over-think it; just get her what she has approved.

Sure it might not last 80-100 years, but replacing it means more brownie points, IYKWIM.

Thanks for the legit suggestion! I was probably just going to get the one she mentioned, but grateful to have at least one other alternative to look into

Take a look at some watches from Mr Jones. Some of their designs are pretty similar.

Anytime! The Shinola my wife has has applied Arabic numerals and a nude color leather strap that looks great. They have some really cool options including a moon phase. Maybe buy the fossil and a few of these that catch your eye and give her an at-home “AD experience” with champagne like she’s at a Rolex boutique. I guarantee these are going to look and feel different in person and you guys can make a night out of it and then return the rejects.

If you’d venture into mechanical watches (I personally wouldn’t for someone who isn’t already deep into it) the Nomos Tangente 33mm is $1700. Timex also has some surprisingly decent quartz options.

·

I'd put it in a Google Lens search and see what else comes up, but I'd suggest this may be as good as it gets, and actually the Fossil is the better brand. It reminds me of Olivia Burton fashion watches or something from the van Gogh museum.

·

Get her the damn Fossil! If that's what she likes, maybe she will start enjoying wearing watches and you can introduce something more fancy down the road (or just accept that she is not into it/or maybe is content with a Fossil). Fossil isn't that bad. And we all need to start somewhere

Well… depending on the size and material, you might have bought yourself some time to save up for it. 🤣

Seiko Lukia and Citizen L & xC collections has some great options. You may want to look at JDM websites to find one.

Hey, if a fossil watch is what interests here get the fossil watch. Everyone starts somewhere. I'm getting my wife a Gucci watch with a bee on it (which I do think is diff esp. for women . . . she sees it as a legit watch brand and I don't think she'd be wrong in certain circles), but also want to get her something she could actually where more often outside of work and dinners . . . a luxury GADA that she can take swimming, take the dog to the park with etc. like a small Oris Aquis or something.

But here's an idea:

Buy the watch she wants, but put it on a watch stand with room for three more watches. Next watch is a couples watch, which also gives you an excuse to get yourself a watch. The last watch is a nice higher end piece that ideally she chooses.

·

That dial is really cool, Fossil or not. I’d get it for her and borrow it sometime 😊

Here's the deal, he should keep getting her inexpensive watches while he spends the hard cash on himself.

My wife recently tried one of these rose gold floral fossil watches on and the lug to lug was outrageous. Fossil is forgivable, especially when it comes to ladies watches. They don't get nearly as many options in this hobby.

😁 you mean a 20 year married man with kids.

Who knows when the wife doesn't care about expensive watches, she don't care about expensive watches.

Also know if she wants 'that watch' she shall have 'that watch'.....then I'll get a good quality matching one to have a good his-and-hers.

Maybe this thread should take a left turn...

What watch can I get to match this one my wife will be getting. Turn a negative into a positive?

I'm not very familiar with women's watches, but Celeste makes some really nice looking pieces.

Reef Tiger on AliExpress do summer nice watches, although might be a bit more gaudy than classy , but they're interesting and varied alright

As an update: of course I got this, was always going to. It’s very nice looking, except “fossil” is printed on the glass itself (yuck, imo) and it is indeed too big for her. Not that she seems to mind though.

I did come across this tissot that I think would also be a good option if anyone else was interested in rose gold alternatives.
