I bought my first luxury watch from from an AD after contemplating grey market

Could not be more happy. The rep was also a watch nerd and was pleasant to work with and discuss serious topics like smaller watch cases and nato straps.

The serial number was read to me in a nice Rolex branded office space and I was given a sparkling water and a seat.

The rep sized the watch for me (which I usually do myself) and steam cleaned the watch and also enjoyed the dial of my Seiko Mystic Forrest. Getting a couple of compliments on that watch in. a Rolex AD was pretty cool.

I couldn’t get a Tudor hat this time which I wanted, bummer but maybe next time. Definitely happy with this and feeling it in the flesh after drooling online so long.

Hit differently not just getting in the mail.

I think this baby will keep me happy for a while!

Nice 👌can’t beat the personal touch

I really can’t imagine what to me would be a luxury item arriving in a box from the post/mail man. I know it’s retail but unless we are wealthy it’s not often we get the chance to be made feel special….Congratulations

·

Congrats. That’s a beauty and also, isn’t it nice when the guy at the AD is also a watch nerd? I’m lucky mine is. Just makes the experience so much more fun

·

And also there is something to be said about your “first time” going the AD route. It’s special

·

I love my Tudor’s got 3 my first was my Pelagos 42 blue then I got the Royal day date Silver dial and finally my black bay GMT opeline dial all from the same AD great Experience every time they are really great watches for the prices

·

I'm glad you got the red carpet treatment.

·

Steam cleaned 👀? Sounds risky. What did they do?

·

Once you go down the Tudor rabbit hole....

Congrats! Very nice watch deserving of a little red carpet treatment 😀. Always great when the SA is into watches, definitely makes for a better experience.

I think they actually just did it to the bracelet but I wasn’t watching after he mentioned it, unless I misheard him lol. The watch came out extremely clean and sparkly though

·

Congratulations 🍾 Beautiful watch

There is something said for AD route all the time. Sure, sometimes you can save some money on gray market but sometimes it’s not worth it.

Nice pickup. It’s gorgeous.

Congrats, you make a great point about the in store/person experience, hits different than a mail order.

·

Sounds like you had a marvellous experience when getting your new watch. Congratulations.

The bit I had too read twice though was the bit about steam cleaning? I’ve never heard or read of this before when buying a new watch.

I think it’s a special device they have but not sure how it works or if it’s just the bracelet.
