I hear a lot of debate about which one of these people prefer. However, I've never seen it down as a poll. So, curiosity got the better of me.
I'll be interested in seeing what the crunch crowd thinks.

I'm not into GS. I've tried them on numerous times. I respect the brand and the high quality watches they produce but none have felt right to me.
I was at my AD today and tried on a GS titanium Lake Suwa w/spring drive movement. It was so much more beautiful than I thought it would be. Feather light, the grey tones of the titanium are incredible and dial really does look just like rippling water on a lake. The fit and finish are truly extraordinary. It took a lot of willpower on my part to not bring it home. Maybe next week?
That all said, I own three Rolex watches. They are a fine brand, build quality is excellent and they are dependable work horses. I would definitely put the GS I saw today in that same category with a plus point for the ingenious movement. Comparing these brands to Mercedes-Benz and Lexus is very apropos.
I voted Grand Seiko thinking specifically of a spring drive WITHOUT the power reserve indicator on the dial:
I don't like Grand Seiko mechanicals. The Spring Drive seems great but all watches with it are gigantic. I own a quartz. But it isn't enough to get my vote over Rolex.

Same feeling but with the brands flipped
I like Rolexes, but since it’s all ultimately down to looks, it’s GS for me every time
My head says Rolex, my heart goes to GS
I dont own Rolex, so definitely GS
Neither appeals to me, I vote Omega.
They are just so on opposite ends. I love my SBGM221. The polishing, the finish, the markers and hands are amazing. My only gripe is GS does too many models with too many dial variants. Not everything needs a specialty dial. I would love to see some of the watches with a plain dial as a standard model.
With Rolex there is nothing that really screams to me. I kind of like Explorer 2 and yacht master but with availability and pricing I don't see me ever getting a YM. I refuse to play the game. Same reason I don't have a snoopy.
GS are nice but their bracelets don’t work for me. Rolex bracelets haven’t changed because they work well.
