Finally my Goal-Watch and SOTC Update

The Aqua Terra has been my nuclear fusion watch for a little over 2 years.... Just in reach but never mine. Now that my #grandseiko had opened my mind to selling my collection, suddenly the AT was actually realisitic.

I sold part of my collection to pay for the GS and thought: what the hell, sell the rest and get the AT.

Not only did I reduce my 12-14 watch collection to now 3 daily wear watches, but I was also once again able to go through the satisfying process of selling my watches and seeing the cash roll in 😂

The Aqua Terra in question is the 38mm blue teak dial version. I had the 41mm green dial variant on my mind for a while, but switched to 38mm for wearability reasons.

Not that I have my goal watch (not calling it a grail, since I recon a grail will never be achievable 😉) I actually don't have any other watches on my list. Does this mean I'm done? Probably not. But I'm very content with my 3-watch collection, to say the least.

#longines Spirit 37mm (L3.410.4.63.6)

I wish everyone a relaxing holiday season and hope all your (not only watch related) dreams come true too!

Now that's the sort of collection I like ! Very cool, good choices 🤩👍👍

·

Missing a diver haha! No seriously, it's an awesome collection.

AT Small Seconds blue is my "grail".

·

Great collection, the AT especially. I have thought of doing the reduction thing to help finance my 3 goal watches, but I struggle to think of more than 2 that I would let go (and one of those only if it went towards a Speedmaster, Chrono for Chrono)

·

Nice triplet you have there. It’s different to mine but the sentiment is the same. 3 solid watches which make you feel good every time you wear them. Enjoy!

·

Well done sir, great versatility! Please convince me to buy a Spirit 37…

Haha, yeah, I've been floating around a BB54 for a bit, but not sure I really need a diver... The SEAmaster AQUA Terra is close enough to water to fill the dive watch space 😂

Yeah, I understand that. Was difficult at first, but then I just let go and feel happier with the bunch now. In the end, everyone is different; some people hate selling watches and keep everything they buy, some people regularly sell and refresh the collection. Depending on your personality 😉

I had this nagging feeling for a while, that selling my watches would open a new watch collecting door, but I never thought I'd just actually do it 😂

Exactly! They might be similar, but that's just the type of watch I enjoy wearing. And I do wear watches for myself after all 😂

The watch is an amazing COSC certified swiss watch for a reasonable price.

The beautifully layered dial has so much depth with the lumed 3d numerals.

The case is really nicely finished with brushed and polished parts, that make it look sharp enough to cut bread.

If it's brand Heretage you're after, you can't get much better than Longines. One of the oldest watch makers with loads of important historical references.

The movement is accurate, reliable and easier to service than many in house movements floating around.

The Spirit 37mm on particular is a really great daily wearer, due to the size and weight of it. If you prefer compacter watches, this is an amazing choice.

To sum up:

(if the cash is not needed elsewhere obviously 😉)

Convincing enough?

·

Well done, consolidation is the first step to an prolific explosion of watches again 😂

·

Wow! These are amazing watches.. you actually don’t need anything more but then watches are addiction and I am sure you shall not stop at these .. 😃

What’s the grail?

·

Amazing trio 👌🏻

·

That’s a perfect collection. Now start collecting bands/bracelets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great 3 watch collection! Just curious, do you not feel the urge to have one black strap option for the occasional "dress watch" vibe? Or a chronograph? If you do feel the need for a chronograph in a smaller size, I just stumbled across the Zenith Chronomaster Original which is 38mm and only 12mm thick.

·

Fantastic three days watches! Congrats and enjoy!

·

That’s a nice collection. How did you find the selling process? Did you have to take a hit on what you paid, or had you been buying them secondhand?

What’s the grail?

Good question... Don't have one at the moment. The AT was what I was aiming for

Yeah I've been looking around for chronographs that don't feel like I'm wearing a car tire. Tried on some Speedmasters, but don't like the smaller ones.

I've this zenith is what you were referring to, you now have my attention 😉

Have you ever tried one on?

Great AT, and good choice to go with the 38 instead of the 41...I once tried the 41 and it felt like a pizza plate on my 7 inch wrist

Yeah and I feel like the 41mm is just a bit too chubby. The 38mm is already chubby compared to the other two, But the 41 is basically nearly the same length just wider.

My old collection was a mix of used and new (on offer and RRP). I basically came out with +100€ for all the watches I sold summed up. However, I'm still selling my Omega Railmaster and that will lose me a couple of hundred € in the best case. But very happy with the rest. Sold most on Chrono24, some on local eBay.

Yes that is the Zenith I mentioned. I just recently became aware of it myself, so have not seen it in person yet. But have read a bunch of reviews and seen videos on YT, it does look very nice and worth consideration.

·

Aqua Terra is IMO the best single GADA watch on the market and very worthy stretch goal axquistion. You have assembled a top notch and visually amazing 3 Watch Collection!

·

Wow what a wonderful collection. Glad you got your Aqua Terra.

I'll be looking for one in about.... 18 months I think

·

Nice my friend 👌

·

Such a nice collection man 🔥 i want to have 3 watch collection too but soo many good offers in the market these days makes it harder to stick only with 3 watches 🥲🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I don't want to buy more watches but my wishlist is already 7 watches deep lol

·

That grand seiko in green dial 🤩
