Watches under microscope vol. 9 Laco Rostock, pilot A-dial

Welcome to the ninth part in the series of watches under the microscope. This time, we'll take a closer look at the Laco Rostock watch - a pilot watch with a type A dial that I'll have had for 10 years.

I bought this watch for my graduation 10 years ago mentioned above. It has been around for important events in my life, and although I don't wear it all that often, it holds a special place for me.

Up close, there's not much to talk about. The dial is textured and matte, the hands are so too. The printing looks fine, I just feel that the application of the lume is shifted slightly to the side. In this case, the watch has a view of a skeletonized Miyota mechanical movement with manual winding, so I've tried to approach this world of gears as well.

As always, please excuse the quality of the photos, which were taken with a child's microscope, which also needs a lot of light to function, so it can show what is hidden not only to the eye, but also to the camera's macro lens.

Glad you like it :-)

Love your series. These are some of the coolest posts. Do you have access to high horological pieces like Patek, ALS, Breguet, I’d like to see those under a microscope. Thanks.

Thank you very much, this is far from my usual photos but I am glad people like it. I have found microscope shots allways fascinating and ty are very rare.

Cool impressions/series.

Printings are quite crisp. Hands an movement looks sharp. Few minor flaws, but nothing you couldn't also on a luxury watch.

Actually not bad for a sub 400 Euro watch.

Disappointed in the application of the lume under micro. Shows flaws that I would not expect at the price point.
