Tudor BB36 and it’s long clasp

Hi everyone,

I absolutely love my Tudor Black Bay 36 and it’s bracelet. But since in my possession (2 years) the fitting is driving me nuts.

As you can see from the picture above the first link attached to the clasp on the 6 o clock side is not conforming downwards which makes the overall „rigid“ length of the underside far greater than the actual lug to lug of the watch. For this reason the clasp often times protudes awkwardly outside and makes a visible gap in between the bracelet and my wrist. 😤

I have already bought a half link which helped with the overall length adjustment, but makes things even worse if you attach it as first link to the clasp.

Has anybody experienced the same and has a solution for this? Does the clasp of the five link bracelet of the newer BB36 fit the old model?

I am happy for any advice. 🙏

Here is a pic of the awkward gap (heavily provoked by pushing down):

The long links make it hard to get a good fit with the Tudor bracelets. Had the issue with my BB58 too. Try moving the half link to the other side and shift a standard link to the other side. I used to move have more links on the 6'o clock side so the clasp was not centered to make it lie much flat under the wrist.

Every Tudor I’ve had has this problem

·

Replace the pin

·

Take the clasp off and reinstall it backwards. Find a comfortable spot for the clasp on your wrist first and adjust the links to keep the clasp in that spot.

The reversed clasp worked for my BB58.

Will give that a try, but am afraid, that it might protrude on the opposite side

Already did that, sounds like the logic thing to do, but worsens the problem as the second last link drops down further and makes the gap more visible. 🧐

Yup, which is why I wear it more often on a nato. It was on the bracelet today, but I don't love this bracelet

·

Have the same issue with my BB58 amd yes it is annoying but a part from putting in on a Nato i didn't try anything else.

·

its awkward but i have heard good things about essentially reversing the bracelet so it closes the other direction

·

Seems like some cheap chinese replicas have even better bracelets than tudor... they better up their game or be left out...

Yes, this is a real problem and I do not understand how people aren't complaining about it more. That's why I don't have a Black bay 36, and it's why I didn't buy the Watch Crunch Jack Mason.

The simplest solution is to sell this and a buy a Black Bay 54. Tudor might sell you a Ranger bracelet, I hear these fit (even just the clasp). Not sure if that has the same problem.

Watch Gringa fit the end links of the 58 to a 54 bracelet so there is at least solution if it must be this watch... a very expensive one but still.

·

Never had a problem with this on my BB36. Love the bracelet

·

First of all thank you for all your replies. 🙏

It’s good/sad to hear, that I am not alone with this problem and have to agree, that this should not be an issue on a watch at this price point.. :/

Wearing it permanently on a strap, especially on a nato, is not really an option for me as I bought this as a „bracelet watch“ and have other watches I prefer on straps. I also thought about getting the BB54 instead, which I already tried on and liked, but I am unsure if I want the dive watch aesthetic as my daily worn watch.

A long term solution might be to get an Explorer 36 once the Rolex-situation has become less stupid.

Therefore, I will try some of your suggestestions and will post my feedback.

Update:

Tried the suggestion with swapping the half link to the 12 o clock side and thus making the 6 o clock longer. The clasp is not centered any longer, but so far I like the fit better than before. Need to wear it for a week to make sure it is an improvement. Thanks a lot!

You're welcome. The fit looks better 👍

It should be comfortable as long as the clasp curves well along your wrist and the link connected to the clasp lies flat rather than stick out squared to the clasp. Hope it helps over time.

I had to do exactly this as well. Usually I have more links on the 12:00 side, but I purchased a half-link and used it and moved one from 12:00 to the 6:00 side and that did the trick for me. Also made a micro adjustment on the clasp and now the fit is literally perfect for my wrist.

I don’t see how buying a new watch is the easiest route.

I have a BB36 and a 17cn wrist. I don't have the same issue, but possibly you need more links on one end of the watch than the other. I find an extra link on the 12.00 side normally does the job
