Seiko Alpinist (sarb017)
This Seiko might be the best deal i had this year. At the begining of the year i was scrolling on website where i saw this watch listed in the pawnshop for less than 100€. I didnt belive it was that cheap. I rushed to the shop to see it live. It was in "used" condition (not perfect but not abused). I tought to myself okey im gonna buy it. When i bought it i was thinking maybe its a fake one, because that day i watched video where guy was telling that there are fake Alpinists. When i went home i open the caseback to see if it was the right movement and it was. I check all the information about the original and my watch and everything matched that it was genuine. One of my favorite watch and i got it for crazy good deal!

I recently (last week) purchased what can be considered a great deal for 2023 on a 2019 sarb035, $450 Canadian dollars, with all papers and boxes, plus the seller had never worn the bracelet (still has the plastic on it) and he had it on a nylon strap. I know $450 isn’t great if you go back a few years, but good luck finding one with an unworn bracelet and all the appropriate fixin’s that go with it at that price today.
Your deals definitely better, but it goes to show with a little patience and luck, great deals are still out there.
What a brilliant find at that price! Usually when I look at a pawn shop window display everything is overpriced.
Very nice. Always search pawn shops! My best find was a 1977 Seiko 6309 for $50. Sold it like a fool for $250…

Wow that an amazing find. I wanted this watch but then learned it was discontinued. By the time I researched it there was the price hike on them. Then the new ones came out for way more and I didn’t see the value. Which led me to build my own inspired by custom watch using seiko parts.
That’s great. I was just reading a book about collecting that said to look at local pawn shops.
