Bambino or Duro??

So I love both the Bambino and the Duro and want both for my fledgling collection. As I’ve said in a previous post, no collection is complete without a Duro. Buuut…I would like to have an affordable dress watch and have a few events later in the year that I could use it for. Eventually I plan on getting both but which one should I get first??

The Duro. It can be used as a dress watch in a pinch with a different strap.

Thanks!!

No watch is mandatory in any collection.

The watches you mention are so dissimilar that nobody can really offer a useful suggestion between the two.

If you're willing to wear a diver to a more formal function, I'd just get a Kamasu or one of the Islanders from Long Island Watch, and call it a day.

Dress watches are fun to own and interesting for a collector (I have several), but hardly qualify as a necessity when dressing up anymore. I had a partner at my previous firm who wore $4000 suits, $500 shoes and with it (I am not kidding) a Victorinox INOX with an orange rubber strap. I thought it was weird, but it was never a problem for him or the clients. So get the Duro. You’ll get more use from it and you can find an inexpensive leather strap to put on it for dress duty and you will look just fine.

Is it possible that by doing so, he was actually trying to be "noticed" and subtly call attention to himself as he showed off the contrast? Just thinking out loud... 😉 But hey, he can do whatever he wants. 👍

To the question, just get both, since you're already quite convinced doing so. Which comes first is up to you. Advanced congrats! 🍻

The Duro.  In fact, I'm going to get myself one soon with the gold edged bezel.

Only the Sith deal in absolutes… no Duro in sight for me.

Of the two watches, I say pick the one that puts the most sprinkles on your cupcake now (which ever excites you most)… as you’ve said, you’re getting both inevitably, so in the end it won’t matter much. Good luck 🤙

I've got a Duro in blue and it looks great. Coupled with a S/S bracelet it looks even better.

Which bracelet did you choose?  A pic would be great!

Dress watches are just watches. You can wear them anywhere that you would normally go. (Don’t swim in the ocean or stand under a waterfall.)

The choice would be easy for me.

Look on that YouTube for Just One More Watch, Jody gets a Duro and mods it with a bracelet and sapphire glass. That's what I have but in blue.

I think the Duro will be a great all rounder watch. Just put the Con in confidence and have fun with it.

The Duro doesn't fight fair.  It's so affordable it costs more to find a good strap for it than to get the watch.

Do both.
