It’s been a while since I’ve been active here but I need all of your expertise. I’m a big G Shock proponent, but I really don’t know much about the Casio Edifice line. Any thoughts? Are they as tough as their G Shock cousins?
I have 2 Edifice : EQB-1100D (tough solar and Bluetooth)for 2 years & ECB10 (anadigi and Bluetooth) for 3 years both work perfectly to this day. G-shock are tougher for sure but Edifice are very well made watches also.

Thank you for the reply. That still stinks about the Edifice. I have found parts for home stereo gear that's almost 50 years old, as well as drum parts for an even older drum set. As you stated, Esslinger and such could supply electronic movements if there were some to be bought.
And thank you for promoting local watchmakers. There is an excellent family business about 25 minutes from my home. It is Cleves and Lonnemann in Bellevue KY. I can't repair any watches, although I do change the batteries on most of my quartz watches, because I have about 20 of them. The difficult ones I will take to Bellevue. Their watchmakers will change a battery or size a bracelet on the ones that I can't for $5 while-u-wait. And you never have to wait very long. They also have a small selection of vintage watches too. I've seen Rolex, Heuer, and Patek there. Since their welcome and their service is so good when I bring in my Seikos, Wengers, and Citizens, I can only imagine what it would be like if I wanted to buy a vintage watch.

Simple answer is no, nothing is as tough as a Gshock.

Thank you!
Thank you!
I have a Casio Oceanus which has a 'tough solar' movement, I would not throw that across the room to someone.

The "throw that across the room" question is a great standard to keep in mind.

When I've thrown someone across the room it hasn't ended well.
That's a great looking watch. Are you sure you can't fix it? I'm sure you've had many challenges before.
Where have I been? I thought "quartz" and "electronic" were interchangeable. But you know the difference. What is it?
I would piss and moan to casio about this---not typical for their watches----Edifice is a solid line

Yes, hence the name "Edifice".
