I'm not considering this seriously. Seriously ๐
HOWEVER!! Could this be a one watch collection? A dark brown distressed leather strap for suits and nice occasions and a Nato-or Marine Nationale strap for summer or sporty moods? And STAIB-bracelet (heavy duty milanese) for everyday variation?
The PRO got a lot of things a love: domed crystal, clean design, a small pop of color, great clasp, mostly brushed, classic and rugged design that fits all my outfits and most occasions, date and cool (borrowed) history/theme of spelunking!!
Downsides: Don't love rivets and I would use a timing function like a dive bezel more than the GMT. The thickness isn't really a issue as the watch sinks nicely into my wrist and a lot of the height comes from the beautiful domed crystal. In-house movement is extra risk and service costs and holds little extra value for me.
If I was going for a โone watch collectionโ I donโt think Iโd pick this. Not say theres anything wrong with the watch, I just think there are better all-rounders out there.ย
But I donโt even think one-watch collections are a thing so itโs irrelevant ๐ ๐ ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ

I do agree to some degree ๐ค But I would want a date, classic, IT-factor and mostly brushed but still luxurious. Under 5000$. Gimme tha options then?
Of course it's possible to have a 1 watch collection! You are just being a Negative Nancy ๐

Haha. No. You donโt have a one-watch collection. You just own a watch. ๐
Based on your criteria, Iโd probably go with a Speedy.ย

But what if I collect that ONE watch. Does it not count as a collection?
Alas, the Speedy isn't the one for me ๐
This sounds like a strap collection not a watch collection. You are trying to figure out what watch head would work the best with all of your different straps. This could be the strap monster you are looking for. LOLย
I hate to be colorist, but I don't understand how any talk of a one watch solution involves black dials. They just don't work as grown-up indoor watches for me.

Cream, ivory, metallic. Somber and light.
Oof, this is tough. In theory and practicality it makes a lot of sense (and saves money). It would take a lot of discipline though. This Tudor is awesome and can see it being โthe oneโ.ย
(I didnโt vote because I cannot wrap my pea brain around a decision.)

I can live with a silver or champagne dial maybe, but it's gotta be something dark for my everyday ๐ค

I'll keep calm and carry on for the time being and save up. But my name might end up on that list.. I can always say "no" when they call me up ๐
1 watch:"Check out my watch"
More than 1 watch: "Check out my watch collection"
Do it !ย

So, yes?
Send your current watches to dugong at this address; The Seven Seas, 247365, Earth for disposal before buying the 'one watch'. And good luck.ย
Still going to laugh at you when you start your inevitable affair the the new horology hottie ๐ป๐
So, yes?
No, discard that piece of junk and start over with a different watch.
I mean, if it works for you that's all that matters. ย Wouldn't for me though.
If I had to pick a Tudor for a one watch collection, which I thankfully don't, it'd be the Tudor Pelagos 39.
If Tudor, the Black Bay 58 in Black would probably be more generally useful - the slight 'heritage' twang lends versatility, but rotating bezel and face design give it some tool/utility creds as well. Oh, and it's a total strap monster as well ๐ I love the Pro, but the brushed Explorer bezel is a very specific look.ย
