NWA… When in Italy…

My friends, many of you know I’ve been admiring Panerai. This week we spent time in Venice, and happened upon the Venetian Panerai boutique. Listen when I tell you… when the wife says, “just buy the watch”, you buy the damn watch. And man, do I love it! Behold the Panerai Radiomir!

Truthfully, I was blown away by the watch on wrist. Knew as soon as I put it on I’d have one. What better way to commemorate a trip to Italy than to leave with a Panerai!

None better, now you need to return for Luminor Marina and a Submersible in the future. Firenze next time.

Very nice! Congratulations on your new watch!

This newly released 40mm Radiomir is nice. I tried it on when it just came out at my local AD a few month ago. Congratulations !

I am waiting for Panerai to release a version with see through case back, hopefully next year:)

Beautiful!

And isn't it wonderful when one's wife encourages a non-essential spend? 😂

·

Very happy for you! Cheers

·

The absolute best way to commemorate a trip to Italy! Congrats and well done! Wear it in good health my friend 🤝

Complimenti bellissimo orologio!

The shop is right off San Marco Square I think 🤔. Was there in June. I own a Radiomir and love it! Enjoy!

That’s the one!

Was it a difficult decision to get a Radiomir and not “crown guard” Pam as your first? I love the lines and size of more of the Radiomir line, however the distinct Oanerai DNA design language of the crown cover and closure makes me think I must have it.

Not much of a choice for me… the Radiomir looks and feels better and more premium. The Luminor is a massive watch even in the smaller case size on my smallish wrist.

Wow buying a Panerai in Italy is on my watch bucket list!! In fact, my friend and I talked of doing this next year in Florence! Congrats on that gorgeous Radiomir 🎯❤️🤙

That would be amazing! Definitely do it!

happened upon the Venetian Panerai boutique…

By this I am assuming you mean “prior to the trip, you vigorously studied Venetian maps and committed to memory ideal walking routes that would allow you and wife to innocently stumble into a boutique.”

It’s okay to tell us the truth, you’re in a safe space 😂 Congratulations on joining the Paneristi!… it’s fantastic watch and choice for an Italian vacation!

I may or may not have spent some time on Google finding what boutiques were near our excursions… but I’ll never tell!

I purchased a Tudor overseas this year and I did declare it and the cusoms guy saw it on my wrist and stated to me “ You did travel out of the country with this while you were in Thailand didn’t you , didn’t you “ And I said oh ah yeah “ he smiled at me and said have a good day sir and let me go . I was honest and the customs guy was a nice bloke , so I saved four hundred odd dollars tax from the initial purchase in Thailand as I was able to get my vat refund at the airport in Thailand 🇹🇭. Good karma I suppose as he did the bullshitting for me ! 😂 Aussies baby ….

That’s awesome! When we traveled internationally earlier this year the customs guy didn’t ask me anything. Hoping he’s on duty when we fly in this time too!

Thanks! The 42 mm Luminor is a nice fit too with those stubby lugs. Just not as sleek as the Radiomir.

love it, BUT, I wonder about coming back through customs, if you don't declare it, they take it, or worse. hm, I have been hankering after this model and the luminor marina

I’ll declare it… not worth trying anything shady. However the last couple of international trips the customs officer merely confirmed my identity and handed me back my passport. Hopefully this happens this time around too!

I see, I agree about the more “premium” look/feel of the Radiomir. Heck of a watch you picked up, color matched date wheel, sandwich dial, and unique case shape.

Thanks friend! Honestly the Luminor didn’t stand a chance after putting this one on. Even the wifey exclaimed “ooooooooh I love that one”

·

Love Panerai, maybe my next watch 🤔

Perfect scenario! In 🇮🇹 and wife gives you the green light 🚦
