Don’t drop your watch

Oops. Landed right on its face, bezel insert popped off, and three tritium tubes are now free-floating inside there. I stuck the bezel back together (badly, probably) and made a service request to Marathon. Let’s see what they say when business hours roll around tomorrow morning.

Sigh.

Sorry to hear that :( hope you get it fixed

·

That sucks! Especially for a watch like Marathon which they pride themselves as robust and tactical. This just solidifies G-Shock position as the real tool watch. Let us know how much is it to service. We don't really hear much about repair cost on this forum.

Seems that watch dropping is getting fairly popular these days. I haven't dropped one yet and it's been a few decades.

How high was the fall?

How high was the fall?

I was putting it on so maybe 3.5 feet or so? Face down onto hardwood floor. Smash!

I’ll get it fixed for sure. I was so lucky to chance on it as a still-available limited edition long after release.

Oh man, I hope Marathon will make it good. That doesn’t seem too high

Their service prices are on the web page and aren’t too unreasonable. Hopefully adding the additional repairs doesn’t push it up to anything too crazy. It’s only a $2k rrp watch, after all.

Not a good look for Marathons reputation

·

I don’t really want to go through all that work myself, quite honestly. We’ll see what they say tomorrow.

Dropping a watch onto a hard surface is probably not a good plan on my part, either.

·

Hah. Just posted how tough I feel mines been. Maybe the proper word now is “versatile”.

·

OUCH! And this was to be next my watch to celebrate being bought out by a 🇨🇦 firm work wise. The Watch Universe decided it wasn't to be I guess... please share the response from Marathon when you contact them. 🍻

·

I got the service form and US address to send to today. All printed out now; I’ll find a box and some bubble wrap when I get home and send it off tomorrow.

·

Hope all goes well, I’m curious how this all works out. I just got my GSAR and love it.

·

It’s arrived at Marathon in Buffalo and was signed for at the front desk, according to UPS. I guess it will have to hop over to the other side of the border before I get a repair estimate, though.
