Personally, I do feel self conscious wearing my Russian manufactured Raketa in public, and have tended to leave it at home.
I get that Russian brands aren’t common, but, in the off chance that someone should ask me about the watch, I really don’t want there to be a perception that I’ve chosen a side in the current conflict.
Its a pity. I really like the watch, and also admired Raketa’s narrative of a Soviet era underdog trying to renew itself and compete with ultramodern Swiss and Japanese brands. Which, until the war, it largely seems to have pulled off.

This post had me check out Tsao Baltimore Watch Compay’s website.
Clicked on one of the listed watches, the “Balt-Recon”. Noticed on the banner above the watch were pictures of a couple of Second World War patrol bombers. Recognized them as American Martin A-30s….but with British RAF roundels.
“Why would an American watch company market with British planes, I wonder? Lazy marketers just chose a random stock photo?”
Then looked it up and learned that the Brit’s called the A-30 the “Baltimore”
