Today I am wearing my GS Snowflake after a long time. I wound the watch but as you can see the power indicator is not going up. I wound it alot but nothing even though the watch is running just fine
Anyone know what this might be?
Edit: It is working, since I haven't worn it in awhile, somehow I forgot that all the way down is fully wound. Thanks for the comments that made me remember

How many times did you wind it? Try giving it a good 40 turns. If nothing happens, I would get in contact with grand seiko.
Do you have a winder it can ride for awhile?

A lot more than 40 that's for sure

No I do not
No I do not
Definitely worth picking one up. I have a couple of my vintage pieces that don’t like to be hand wound, but love the winder.

Thanks will look into it
Doesn’t the indicator show it being fully wound?

well not this time, last I wore it, it did

I guess I’m confused. I thought the hand being on the bottom of the indicator meant it’s fully wound.

I don't own this watch but from all the videos I've seen of people manually winding... the power reserve hand being on the bottom means it's fully wound.

oh man, you are absolutely right, I knew that too but like I stated I haven't worn it in a while somehow my brain didn't compute cause it's kind of backwards, up being empty and down being full. Thank you for reminding me
it is fully wound
Yup looks fully wound to me as well!
It is a little strange at first. See the tick lines around the curvature of the indicator? See how they get shorter and shorter and shorter as they go farther up on the indicator? The longer those tick lines are, the more power reserve the watch has. This means that if the indicator hand is down towards the longer tick lines, the watch is wound up. That is how I had to force my brain to think. Ya get used to after a while.
Cheers! Love this piece congrats on owning it. One clue about the power is the “steps” get wider as the power increases.
This is actually one of my grail watches. Does it work as an everyday daily driver (aka GADA watch) in your opinion?
Yeah it does work as a GADA pieces, I work in jeans and dress shirt, but with tshirt definitely works as well. Light as a feather don't even feel it anymore on the wrist
Panic over 😁
Yes, I was already thing of sending it into service lol

It is showing fully wound
Easy to get that mixed up. Your fuel gauge would say you are on empty if it looked like that.

Thanks! I'm looking at the Snowflake and the Omega Aqua Terra 41 as the next watch at the moment

Aqua Terra is my next watch also. 👍
Dude…that thing is FULLY wound…🥲
That’s fully wound. There is a scale on the outer edge of the power gauge.
What a drag! That’s a lovely watch isn’t it? I’m looking forward to handling one soon.
Best of luck with the repair.
Cheers

it doesn't need repair, it's fine just having a brain fart
The indicator is set to 'max' position. Thats how it should be once the watch is fully wound.
